Role Description

The Senior Social & Influencer Strategist leads organic social and influencer strategy across key clients. This role owns day-to-day social and influencer thinking, creative direction, and execution, while helping shape how social integrates into broader paid media, PR, and communications efforts.

This is a senior individual contributor with strong platform instincts, sharp creative judgment, and the confidence to bring proactive ideas and POVs — including supporting executive visibility and LinkedIn thought leadership initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Organic Social & Influencer Strategy

  • Lead organic social and influencer strategy across assigned accounts.
  • Design platform-native social ecosystems that balance storytelling, community engagement, and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop influencer strategies that feel authentic, compliant, and aligned with broader campaign objectives.
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, cultural shifts, and creator economy trends impacting strategy.

Creative Direction & Social Craft

  • Act as an internal authority on what strong, platform-native social looks like.
  • Partner with Creative on briefs, formats, tone, and storytelling direction.
  • Review content and creator deliverables through a social-first, editorial lens.
  • Advocate for intentional, culturally relevant creative that reflects how audiences actually consume content.

Influencer & Creator Management

  • Lead creator discovery, vetting, contracting, and relationship management.
  • Manage influencer budgets, timelines, deliverables, and compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain diverse creator networks, including multicultural and Spanish-speaking creators when relevant.
  • Ensure all programs align with disclosure, legal, and brand guidelines.

LinkedIn & Executive Presence

  • Develop LinkedIn strategies for executives and client spokespeople.
  • Shape executive narratives and thought leadership positioning.
  • Translate business priorities and media moments into authentic LinkedIn content.
  • Align LinkedIn activity with PR, reputation, and visibility strategies.

Integrated Media & PR Collaboration

  • Partner closely with media teams to align social and influencer with paid strategy.
  • Collaborate with PR teams on announcements, earned moments, and reputation initiatives.
  • Ensure social is fully integrated into broader campaign planning.

Measurement & Optimization

  • Define meaningful success metrics beyond vanity metrics.
  • Analyze performance and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Continuously optimize content, creators, and formats based on insights.

Client Leadership

  • Serve as a senior day-to-day client contact for social and influencer initiatives.
  • Present strategies, creative direction, and performance insights.
  • Advise clients on cultural trends, platform changes, and reputational considerations.

Team & Practice Development

  • Mentor junior team members as needed.
  • Contribute to playbooks, best practices, and scalable systems.
  • Help shape the long-term vision for a Social & Influencer practice within the agency.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6–9+ years of experience in organic social and/or influencer marketing.
  • Strong creative judgment and platform fluency across major social channels.
  • Experience managing influencer programs end-to-end.
  • Confidence collaborating with senior media, creative, and PR leaders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly proactive, organized, and collaborative.

Nice to Have

  • Paid Social experience (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) or close partnership with paid teams.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred, with experience developing or reviewing Spanish-language or multicultural social content.
  • Experience supporting executive visibility or thought leadership programs.
  • Public sector, higher education, or social-impact client experience.
  • Interest in helping build and scale a Social & Influencer department.

Work Environment

This role is primarily based at our Rancho Cordova office, with a hybrid schedule of four in-office days per week.
