Position Overview:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading all marketing initiatives that drive awareness, guest engagement, and revenue for our hotel and restaurant near the Disneyland Resort. This role manages a vibrant marketing team and oversees all marketing channels, partnerships, and promotional activities. This position requires a balance of strategic leadership, creative direction, technical proficiency, and hands-on execution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the creation and execution of marketing strategies and tactical plans.
- Direct and support Marketing team with weekly and monthly check-ins, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct Monthly Marketing Meetings including presentation development, project updates, and performance analysis.
- Facilitate Marketing Updates focused on brainstorming, team education, AI training/certification, and project status.
Campaign & Project Management
- Develop and oversee integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, email, and social media.
- Manage hotel and restaurant branding, messaging consistency, and creative output across platforms.
- Organize and lead photography and videography shoots, including scheduling, directing talent, and managing image/video assets.
- Coordinate with design team or self-execute graphic design needs: flyers, email headers, promotional banners, menus, sales sheets, and business cards.
Digital Marketing & Analytics
- Oversee Google Ads performance: monitoring, optimizing, and reporting on paid media campaigns weekly.
- Use Google Analytics to track website performance, user behavior, and campaign impact, reporting insights monthly.
- Regularly perform website edits including content maintenance, image updates, guest reviews, and occasional design changes.
- Manage social media strategy and execution including content creation, influencer partnerships, paid ad campaigns, and community engagement across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Monitor and evaluate competitive marketing efforts, including their websites, social media, and promotional activity.
Email Marketing & Guest Messaging
- Oversee weekly email marketing campaigns (Email Blasts/GMS) and review automated hotel communications, including pre-arrival, confirmation, and cancellation emails.
- Assign and approve content and topics for email marketing and blog updates.
Public Relations & Partnerships
- Build relationships with key partners such as Visit Anaheim, Anaheim Chamber, Expedia, Booking.com, and Disney’s Good Neighbor Program.
- Attend external meetings and represent the hotel at industry events and community initiatives.
- Maintain Good Neighbor standards including trademark compliance and brand representation.
Merchandise & Collateral Management
- Develop and manage hotel and restaurant merchandise, including pricing, design, ordering, and vendor coordination (e.g., branded cups, tumblers, beach balls).
- Manage and approve vendor invoices and purchasing for a variety of marketing needs, including floral displays, software tools (e.g., Bentobox, Iconosquare, Linktree), ad platforms (Yelp, Facebook, Instagram), wedding platforms (Wedding Pro, Birdeye), and office supplies.
Reporting & Budget Management
- Prepare and present regular performance updates, KPIs, and ROI analyses to executive leadership.
- Maintain and monitor the marketing budget, approving expenditures and vendor payments.
- Oversee all creative, operational, and budget-related marketing documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Hospitality. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience:
- Experience with hospitality CRM and CMS platforms, digital advertising, and social media analytics.
- Background in campaign management, creative direction, and vendor relations.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, creative thinking, and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with Google Ads, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, and email marketing tools.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods for computer work, meetings, and events.
- Occasionally lift or move items up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to: ascend / descend stairs, bend, use computer, visual and auditory capabilities.
- Must be available to attend occasional off-site meetings, community functions, or after-hours events.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by marketing events or deadlines.
