About the job

Our Values at Gameday Social

Grit

| We’re hungry, we hustle, we pivot. We’re still at the stage where everyone has to pitch in at the warehouse on occasion. No egos.

Pursuing excellence

| Getting better every day- moving swiftly when adjustments need to be made.

Team orientation

| We view our coworkers, customers and vendors as partners. Transparent and cross-functional is how we work.

Boldly innovative

| We didn’t get here with a “this is how it’s done” mindset. We welcome ideas, creativity and we embrace obstacles as opportunities.

Nimble

| Our ability to chase trends and move quickly has led to our success, but also means very little is concrete. We aim to preserve this agility as we grow and look for people who can thrive when things are moving quickly.

Our Team & Success

| Gameday Social is a South Dakota based fashion brand- for women, by women. Founded by Jael Thorpe in 2021, and an officially certified woman owned company, we aim to “elevate the social fan experience through licensed collaborations.” We have grown rapidly through innovative design, outstanding quality and developing key retailer and licensing relationships across the country.

Role Overview We are hiring a high-performing, innovative Director of Brand & Marketing to lead the next phase of growth for our rapidly scaling fashion brand. This is a builder role for a competitive marketer who wants real ownership and measurable impact.

You will architect and execute a revenue-driving marketing engine across both B2B and DTC channels and strategic collaborations—while elevating brand positioning and protecting aesthetic integrity. You are equally strong in strategy and execution: able to set the vision, build the infrastructure, and lead a small team (2–4 direct reports) to deliver high-quality work at speed.

You will partner closely with the Founder/CEO on brand direction and major initiatives, while taking full ownership of day-to-day marketing performance, execution, and accountability. Key areas of focus include brand development and collaborations, deepening retailer relationships through high converting marketing tools and implementing AI-driven systems to increase efficiency and output.

This role requires sharp creative judgment, data-driven decision-making, a bias toward action and the ability to balance omnichannel priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Channel Leadership

  • Work directly with the CEO and executive team to develop and own a comprehensive omnichannel marketing strategy aligned with revenue and distribution goals.
  • Build structured trade marketing programs that support sell-in and drive retailer sell-through.
  • Create scalable retailer marketing toolkits (digital assets, in-store materials, email creative, product storytelling, co-branded campaigns).
  • Partner closely with Sales to support key account growth, seasonal launches, and major retail initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate in-store and online retail presentation across accounts.
  • Develop budget for and oversee retail activations with key partners.

2. Brand Stewardship Across Distribution

  • Define, protect, and elevate brand aesthetic across every customer and retailer touchpoint.
  • Directly handle key high profile collaboration relationships.
  • Create and execute a content strategy including social media, influencer marketing, product storytelling, and campaigns.
  • Deliver seasonal campaign launches and key brand initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency between wholesale and DTC brand messaging.

3. Collaboration & Launch Execution

  • Lead end-to-end marketing execution for brand collaborations and licensed partnerships.
  • Build repeatable cross-functional launch frameworks to ensure clean, coordinated rollouts across channels.
  • Maintain brand consistency while adapting to collaboration partner requirements.

4. Digital & Performance Marketing Oversight

  • Oversee digital marketing strategy to ensure alignment with broader brand and retail goals.
  • Guide paid media, email/SMS, and eCommerce initiatives with a focus on profitability and brand alignment.
  • Improve digital storytelling and conversion experience without compromising brand positioning.
  • Build reporting systems that connect marketing activity to revenue, margin, and channel performance.
  • Launch social shopping initiatives (eg: TikTok shop)

5. Team & Operations

  • Manage and mentor a small marketing team (2-4 people).
  • Identify gaps and build scalable systems as the company grows.
  • Embrace and implement AI tools and automation to improve productivity, content creation, analytics, and campaign management.
  • Manage external agencies and freelancers as needed.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, preferably in fashion, consumer brands, or lifestyle categories across multiple channels.
  • Experience in B2B marketing is non-negotiable.
  • Strong aesthetic judgment aligned with elevated fashion and lifestyle brands.
  • Strong understanding of paid digital advertising, email/SMS and marketing analytics.
  • Experience leading small to mid-size teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and building marketing infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of AI tools and marketing automation platforms.
  • Experience working directly alongside sales teams to drive retail growth with trade marketing assets.
  • Track record of managing brand collaborations and influencer relationships.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Builder mentality — you have created marketing systems from scratch.
  • Competitive — you track performance obsessively and care about winning.
  • Thinks beyond DTC growth and understands omnichannel brand building.
  • Comfortable being challenged by a founder and confident defending strategy with data.
  • Comfortable navigating high profile collaboration partner relationships.
  • Bias toward action. You test quickly, learn fast, and iterate without ego.
  • Excited to modernize marketing with AI and automation.

What Success Looks Like

  • Trade marketing programs implemented that increase retailer sell-through.
  • Stronger retail partnerships supported by structured marketing tools.
  • Clean, well-executed collaboration launches.
  • Clear brand consistency across all channels.
  • Marketing systems that support growth without unnecessary complexity.
  • Measurable contribution to revenue growth across wholesale and DTC.
  • AI-driven efficiencies that increase team output without increasing headcount.
