Studio Distribution Services (SDS) is a joint venture between Warner Bros. and UniversalPictures. We are the leading distributor for the entertainment industry, responsible for the Sales, Retail Marketing and Supply Chain of home entertainment products for both studios.
We manage sales and distribution of new release and library content of both film and television for a wide range of famous labels, including Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., Legendary Entertainment, Focus Features, HBO, DreamWorks Animation and Illumination Entertainment.

The hourly rate is $20/hour
Role Summary:
The Trade Marketing & Social Media Intern will have responsibility in two capacities on the Trade Marketing Team. This role will lead a project in reviewing performance data, inventory optimization, content and pricing, optimizing profitability, etc. in Material Groups, Multi-Feature and Gift Set/High-Value Collection Profile. Additionally, this role will help establish and execute a strategic and creative social media presence for SDS using Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn for both the US & Canada, where appropriate.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Research sell-down and cut out products to determine which Material Group should be assigned to each.
a. This would involve compiling lists of all items (aka SKUs) in sell-down and cut-out status, and researching why each SKU is in that status, and/or whether we would be willing to reactivate them in the future.
2. Compile a list of all existing multi-feature (2-,3-,4-, and 5-Film) Collections and identify those which could be pitched (or re-pitched) for the Walmart Modular planogram.
a. This would involve pulling together cost of goods and current pricing/inventory/SKU status info, and Walmart placement/pricing/performance history by SKU.
3. Review list of high-value collections, gift sets, and TV Complete Series sets and recommend promotional pricing levels/thresholds by item for different types/durations of programs (e.g., 1- or 2-day high-profile promotions like Amazon Prime Day, or more ‘routine’ 2-4 week Temporary Price Reductions, aka TPRs).
a. This would involve updating an existing file with item-level details, and reviewing profitability and pricing history to make recommendations about future promotional pricing.
4. Represent SDS on social media platforms by posting and creating engaging & relevant content
5. Engage partners, customers, employees, and potential customers on social media to create brand and content awareness
6. Leverage influencers to promote content & tag SDS
7. Follow trends and viral topics to grow customer base and attract additional studio partnerships/business
8. Be part of ensuring SDS is known as the “go-to” source for all physical content in the US & Canada, making it exciting again
9. Showcase company culture for a stronger online presence to improve talent recruitment opportunities
10. Moderate comments on all channels, escalating as needed
11. Collaborate with studio marketing teams to ensure SDS is aligned on content messaging
12. With guidance from the team, explore and apply approved AI tools relevant to the role, responsibly integrating AI to enhance efficiency and reimagine the way we work.
All interns will also be required to present their project and associated work to their department and/or all of SDS.

- Has a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Is comfortable accessing and working with large volumes of data from multiple sources and querying the data into actionable reporting
- Has the ability to clearly summarize and communicate findings
- Is comfortable presenting ideas and concepts to varying senior levels
- Has experience in cultivating relationships both internally and externally
- Is able to be assertive with a high level of focus and energy, promptness and preparation
- Has prior experience working with Amazon or another online retailer preferred
