Job Description Summary Champion, thought leader, and influencer for GE Aerospace Dayton Tubes & Ducts EHS culture, policies, and procedures. This role will drive EHS operations, planning, and execution and will lead a team of both hourly and salaried employees. The role partners with stakeholders to optimize EHS solutions, procedures, and practices that are compliant with regulatory and GE policy requirements.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities

  • Individual will provide site strategy and day-to-day EHS support for the Tubes & Ducts facility. This role will partner with other leaders at nearby facilities to support Tubes & Ducts employees who may work at those locations and to share best practices across GE Aerospace sites.
  • Accountable owner of environmental, industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety programs, ergonomics, case management, and worker’s compensation for the site.
  • Lead a team of professional and hourly employees. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the site, including control of resources and policy formulation.
  • Responsible for contract management of health services, environmental & other EHS needs.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may impact work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Lead functional teams or projects with understanding of resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and influence stakeholders on topics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university + Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in an industrial environment

  • Understanding of Lean principles that can be applied to FLIGHT DECK – GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Schedule flexibility to support all shifts as needed
  • Ability to use data and expertise in the field to solve problems and proactively prevent issues
  • Previous people leadership experience
  • Experience in all three areas: environmental, health and safety
