JOB SUMMARY
Caesars Sportsbook is looking for a talented, creative social media strategist and leader for the role of Director of Social Strategy, Sports, who loves all sports and social media, has knowledge of the sports betting landscape, is full of ideas, and can thrive in a start-up environment to lead our social media and content strategy team with the ideation, production, editing, and scheduling of content for our sports betting vertical. This position will report to the Vice President, Enterprise Social Media & Digital Reputation at Caesars Entertainment. This role is for someone who thinks big and gets things done. HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY
- Provide visionary leadership in developing integrated, league specific social strategies across NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and other major sports, ensuring alignment with the broader sports calendar and brand goals while driving innovation in content, partnerships, promotions, and digital reputation
- Mentor, coach, and grow a high performing social team, empowering individual contributors through clear delegation, structured development plans, and hands-on guidance in maintaining dynamic, accurate content calendars and editorial processes
- Lead cross‑functional brainstorms and creative acceleration sessions to inspire original thinking, uncover new content opportunities, develop relevant storylines in sports culture and sports betting, and foster a culture of innovation within the team.
- Serve as a strategic partner to PR, Trading, Field Marketing, Operations, and other key stakeholders, ensuring social strategy amplifies business priorities and seamlessly complements integrated marketing initiatives.
- Oversee real‑time cultural and sports trend monitoring, guiding the team in proactive participation in sports moments, engagement, and conversations that elevate the Caesars Sportsbook brand voice.
- Leverage deep understanding of the Caesars Rewards loyalty ecosystem to strategically integrate partnerships, VIP experiences, and marquee events into social content, maximizing visibility, driving cross‑channel engagement, and creating compelling FOMO‑driven moments that showcase the program’s value.
- Design and lead the Sportsbook influencer marketing strategy, including selection, activation planning, and execution for major events and seasonal campaigns.
- Establish a strong performance measurement framework, directing the team in producing actionable channel and content reports, and translating insights into strategic optimizations and future planning.
- Cultivate and maintain channel specific strategies with priority social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, etc.), positioning Caesars Sportsbook as the community for sports bettors and general sports enthusiasts
- Champion operational excellence and governance, modeling best in class adherence to enterprise IT protocols, workflow standards, and process consistency across all social functions.
- Lead the social care and digital reputation functions, overseeing community management, customer response, and app store/social reputation strategy to ensure a consistent and positive brand presence.
- Drive team accountability and operational clarity through strong project management, effective communication frameworks, and performance‑oriented metrics across all initiatives.
- Live cover events activations as needed, ensuring on‑site social coverage is strategic, engaging, and aligned with business goals.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and adaptable team culture, effectively partnering with a wide range of personalities and departments at all organizational levels.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience required
- 8+ years of experience working in social media, preferably in sports, with strategy and leadership experience
- Extensive passion and knowledge of sports and social media
- An “always-on” mentality as the sports world is constant, with availability to work nights and weekends
- Candidate should be self-motivated; detail orientated, and prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent written skills with the ability to adapt and represent a variety of brand voices
- Other desired skills include time management skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom experience is a plus
