Marketing Intern - Waconia, MN

Hourly Wage: $17.00

As a member of Security Bank & Trust Co.’s Marketing team, the Marketing Intern will assist the Marketing Coordinator while gaining valuable hands-on experience in various marketing tasks and contributing to the Bank’s brand and community presence. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for marketing.

This paid internship (May – September) offers 30-40 hours per week with potential for full-time employment upon completion. Availability for occasional evening and weekend events is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing bank-sponsored events, including logistics, setup, and onsite coordination.
  • Create and curate content (written, graphic, and video) for social media platforms to promote Security Bank & Trust Co.’s brand, culture, and services.
  • Monitor social media channels and respond to user comments and messages in a professional and timely manner.
  • Track and report social media metrics, including engagement, impressions, and follower growth, for internal review.
  • Prepare, Proofread and edit marketing materials, including advertisements, email campaigns, social media posts, press releases, and brochures.
  • Support the development of new marketing initiatives, such as influencer research, guest blogging, and email marketing.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the Bank’s products and services to accurately represent them in marketing efforts.
  • Conduct customer and market research to assist with audience targeting and campaign development.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest or experience in video production and photography is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
