Our community spans thousands of dancers, coaches, and dance families across the country, and our ambassador program featuring talent ages 8 to 25 is the heartbeat of everything we do.
We're looking for a Social Media Manager who lives and breathes social media, genuinely loves the dance world, and has the vision and hustle to grow the brand. This is a rare opportunity to own the voice of a brand that people are already obsessed with and make it even bigger.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Platform Management
- Own and manage 3 Instagram accounts plus our TikTok presence end-to-end
- Develop and execute a platform-specific content strategy that drives growth, engagement, and community
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and aesthetic across all channels that resonates with dancers, dance parents, and the broader lifestyle audience
- Schedule, publish, and monitor all content using best-in-class social and .ai tools.
Content Creation
- Concept, create, and produce scroll-stopping Reels, TikToks, Stories, and static posts that showcase our product and community
- Write sharp, on-brand captions that capture our brand personality, fun, aspirational, and authentically dance
- Stay ahead of trending audio, formats, and challenges, and move fast to capitalize on them
- Collaborate with the owner and Marketing Manager on content direction for product launches, events, competitions, and seasonal campaigns
Ambassador Program & Talent Scouting
- Scout for emerging dance talent and influencers who align with the Jo & Jax brand (ages 8–25)
- Actively manage relationships with our ambassador community, keeping them engaged, activated, and excited
- Coordinate ambassador content deliverables, reposts, and campaign activations
- Identify opportunities to grow the program and bring in fresh, diverse talent across dance styles and platforms
Strategy & Growth
- Analyze performance data weekly and translate insights into actionable content and strategy adjustments
- Track trends in the competitive dance world competition seasons, viral moments, key creators — and build them into our content calendar
- Develop strategies to grow followers, increase reach, and drive conversions across all platforms
- Stay current on algorithm changes and platform updates and adapt our approach accordingly
Collaboration & Events
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager on photo shoots, events, trade shows, and pop-ups
- Capture behind-the-scenes content at events and activations for real-time posting
- Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and creative partners as needed
- Support product launches and drops with well-timed, high-impact social campaigns
YOU ARE
- Deeply knowledgeable about the competitive dance world — you know the competitions, the teams, the choreographers, and the culture
- A natural storyteller who can turn a fitting room moment or a competition weekend into content people share
- Obsessed with social media, you're the first to know about a new TikTok trend, a platform update, or a rising dance creator
- A self-starter who can ideate, execute, and deliver without being micromanaged
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills managing multiple accounts and an ambassador roster requires it
- A team player who loves collaborating with a small, passionate team that genuinely cares about what they're building
- Someone who gets excited about a brand that makes dancers feel confident, beautiful, and powerful
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of social media management experience, ideally with a fashion, lifestyle, dance, or youth-focused brand
- Proven track record of growing Instagram and TikTok accounts with strong engagement
- Experience with Reels and TikTok video creation from filming to editing to posting
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools (Later, Sprout Social, Planoly, or similar)
- Strong visual eye and understanding of brand aesthetics
- Experience with or knowledge of the competitive dance industry is a strong plus
- Experience managing influencer or ambassador programs is a strong plus
- Ability to be on-site for events, photo shoots, and activations as needed
