Position Overview

Sleepyhead is seeking a visionary, data-driven

Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

to lead and scale our entire marketing organization. This executive will own revenue-driving strategy across all digital channels, oversee brand positioning, and build a high-performance team capable of sustaining aggressive growth.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in

e-commerce

, with hands-on expertise in

Shopify

and a strong understanding of performance marketing, lifecycle marketing, and brand storytelling. Experience with

Amazon Seller Central

is preferred. Strong experience with

Email

and

SMS

is required.

This role reports directly to the CEO and plays a critical part in shaping Sleepyhead’s next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive omnichannel marketing strategy aligned with aggressive revenue goals

  • Own top-line growth, customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value metrics

  • Lead monthly and quarterly marketing planning, forecasting, and budgeting

  • Build scalable systems that drive measurable ROAS and profitability

E-Commerce & Performance Marketing

  • Lead all direct-to-consumer initiatives on

Shopify

  • Oversee paid media (Meta, Google, TikTok, Pintrest, MNTN), affiliate, influencer, email/SMS, and organic social media

  • Own lifecycle marketing strategy across

Klaviyo (email)

and

Postscript (SMS)

  • Optimize flows, segmentation, deliverability, retention campaigns, and subscription strategy

  • Optimize conversion rate, AOV, and customer journey across all digital touchpoints

  • Use analytics to drive data-backed decision-making across channels

  • Partner with operations and finance to align inventory, promotions, and demand planning

Amazon Growth (Preferred Experience)

  • Support and scale marketplace strategy through

Amazon Seller Central

  • Oversee listing optimization, advertising, and promotional planning

  • Drive profitable growth on Amazon while maintaining brand integrity

Brand & Creative Direction

  • Ensure brand consistency and premium positioning across all touchpoints

  • Oversee creative strategy and campaign development

  • Lead product launches and seasonal initiatives

  • Protect and enhance Sleepyhead’s premium brand image

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team

  • Establish clear KPIs and accountability structures

  • Foster a results-oriented, high-performance culture

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive leadership

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with significant e-commerce focus

  • Proven success scaling a multi-million-dollar DTC brand

  • Extensive hands-on experience with

Shopify

(required)

  • Deep experience with Klaviyo

and

Postscript

, including lifecycle automation and revenue attribution

  • Experience managing significant paid media budgets with strong KPI accountability

  • Experience with Amazon Seller Central

3P (preferred)

  • Strong analytical background with comfort in financial modeling and forecasting

  • Experience leading and managing high-performing marketing teams

  • Executive presence with strong communication and decision-making skills
