The Ohio Pork Council is seeking a strategic and innovative Marketing Manager to lead statewide pork promotion and demand enhancement initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for growing consumer demand, strengthening trust in pork production, and elevating the image of Ohio pork producers.

What You’ll Lead

Strategic Marketing & Demand Enhancement

  • Develop and execute comprehensive pork promotion strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President and Demand Enhancement Committee to establish annual marketing plans and budgets.
  • Utilize approved AI tools, digital analytics, and data-driven insights to optimize campaign performance.
  • Identify emerging consumer trends and marketing technologies to expand reach and ROI.
  • Develop innovative campaigns that build consumer trust and demonstrate the value of pork production.

Digital & Brand Strategy

  • Lead digital advertising campaigns and performance tracking.
  • Oversee social media strategies across Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube.
  • Manage influencer partnerships and food blogger engagement.
  • Monitor consumer sentiment and support reputation management efforts.
  • Maintain and optimize the consumer-facing website.

Event Marketing & Team Execution

  • Lead marketing strategy and execution for major events including Ohio Pork Congress and Ohio State Fair activations.
  • Work closely with the OPC team to execute programming and promotions.
  • Demonstrate a team-first mindset — willing to contribute wherever needed to ensure event success.

Intern Leadership

  • Coordinate supervision of communication and/or event interns in collaboration with the Communication Director and Executive Vice President.
  • Provide oversight, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Agriculture, or related field required.
  • Strong agriculture background required with knowledge of pork production and the pork supply chain.
  • Passion for food animal agriculture required.
  • 1–2 years of marketing or related experience preferred (internships included); preference given to candidates with 3–5+ years of experience.
  • Experience with digital marketing, AI marketing tools, analytics platforms, and marketing automation preferred.
  • Strong writing, public speaking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Ohio and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than 2 years of marketing or related experience.
  • Experience in retail, foodservice, or stakeholder promotions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of swine production.
  • Experience managing event-marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of paid social media advertising and content-marketing strategy.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President and works closely with all Ohio Pork Council team members to ensure alignment of marketing strategy, event execution, and industry programming.
