Role Overview

Chris McMillan Hair is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director or Senior Director of Brand Marketing to help shape what comes next. This is a high impact role where you will partner closely with the CMO to co lead the marketing function, build the systems and programs that power the brand, and lead integrated initiatives across influencer, social, PR and talent, events, community, retail, and DTC.

What You'll Do

Marketing Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with the CMO to co-lead the marketing department and define long-term brand vision.
  • Build and manage a growing team across influencer, social, PR, events, and community.
  • Lead development and management of the 360° consumer engagement calendar across channels.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Retail, Creative, and DTC teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact campaigns.

Influencer, Social, & PR/Talent

  • Lead influencer, creator, talent, and social commerce strategy across gifting, seeding, affiliate, paid partnerships, and long-term relationships.
  • Bring in existing relationships with creators, hairstylists, influencers to activate with the brand
  • Build a community of creators, hairstylists, and loyal advocates who champion “just good hair for everyone.”
  • Oversee social media strategy and execution, ensuring content reflects brand voice, artistry, and innovation.
  • Own PR strategy across brand storytelling, press launches, talent moments, performance/affiliate PR, and earned media amplification

while closely managing the existing PR agency.

Campaigns, Community, & Events

  • Concept, plan, and execute 360 campaigns—across major retail moments, brand storytelling, education, and seasonal activations.
  • Build and scale community programs engaging consumers, hairstylists, beauty insiders, and brand enthusiasts.
  • Develop event strategy, including product education, influencer activations, VIP moments, and experiential touchpoints.

Brand Voice, Creative, & Consistency

  • Maintain brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Partner with Creative to ensure assets ladder up to brand guidelines and cultural relevance.
  • Uphold a high bar for storytelling that reflects Chris’s artistry, authenticity, and expertise.

Systems, Reporting, & Scale

  • Build processes, workflows, and cross-functional operating rhythms to scale efficiently.
  • Define performance KPIs across influencer, social, brand, and campaign work.
  • Implement systems that enable fast execution while maintaining operational clarity and excellence.

Qualifications

  • 7–12+ years of experience in brand marketing, influencer/creator marketing, or consumer engagement within beauty, fashion, or lifestyle.
  • Proven experience managing teams while staying close to execution.
  • Demonstrated success leading 360 brand campaigns across DTC, social, retail, and experiential.
  • Strong understanding of the creator economy, paid partnerships, affiliate, and community building.
  • Experience developing systems, KPIs, and processes within fast-growing or startup environments.
  • High emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
  • A love for beauty and haircare; professional hair industry experience is a plus.
