Job Overview
The Director of Marketing is a hands-on leadership role responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive brand growth, revenue, and customer engagement. This role focuses on strategy execution, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration, translating business objectives into actionable marketing plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Brand Strategy and Positioning
Develop and execute a compelling brand strategy that communicates our brand's unique value proposition, positioning, and identity. Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints and products.
2. Product Launches and Campaigns
Lead the planning and execution of product launches, seasonal campaigns, and marketing initiatives. Create captivating storytelling and engaging content to drive excitement and sales.
3. Digital and E-commerce Marketing
Oversee all digital marketing efforts, including website optimization, SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, and influencer partnerships. Leverage digital channels to increase brand awareness and drive online sales.
4. Market Research and Insights
Conduct market research and consumer insights analysis to understand customer preferences, industry trends, and competitive landscapes. Utilize findings to inform marketing strategies and product development.
5. Budget Management
Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI on marketing investments.
6. Team Leadership and Development
Inspire and mentor the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Set clear goals, provide guidance, and evaluate team performance.
7. Retail Marketing Support
Collaborate with the sales team to develop retail marketing programs and materials that support in-store promotions and drive sell-through at retail partners.
8. Public Relations and Media Relations
Oversee PR and media relations strategies to enhance brand visibility, secure media coverage, and manage the brand's reputation effectively.
9. Data Analysis and Reporting
Analyze marketing campaign performance, KPIs, and sales data to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts. Provide insights and reports to the executive team for informed decision-making.
10. Go-To-Market Strategy Execution
Own end-to-end go-to-market plans for new and existing products, including pricing, channel strategy, launch timing, and promotional plans in collaboration with Sales and Product teams.
11. Revenue-Focused Marketing Leadership
Partner closely with Sales, E-commerce, and Finance teams to align marketing initiatives with revenue targets, margin goals, and inventory strategies.
12. Performance & Growth Marketing
Lead paid media, conversion optimization, and retention marketing strategies.
Continuously test, learn, and optimize campaigns based on performance data.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 8-12+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a people management role.
- Proven experience as a Director of Marketing or a similar leadership role in beauty, consumer goods, or lifestyle brands
- In-depth knowledge of beauty industry trends, consumer behavior, and marketing strategies
- Strong experience working with DTC + wholesale/retail hybrid business models.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns for beauty products
- Proven ability to manage multiple brands or product lines simultaneously
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM, analytics, and project management platforms
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Previous experience in a beauty brand or related industry is highly desirable
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
