Our broadcasting partner is seeking an Interim Social Media Strategist to own and guide the strategy for its flagship social channels during a six-month employee leave. This role is responsible for curating, shaping, and amplifying content across multiple platforms, managing influencer partnerships, optimizing paid social, and analyzing performance to advance audience growth.
This role requires staying attuned to both overall social media trends and Bay Area's specific cultural trends. Preference to someone local to San Francisco or well versed in San Francisco culture. Must be PST.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media - Define and guide the overall social media strategy across flagship platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, audience goals, and brand standards
- Serve as a curator, managing multiple pipelines of content from creators, on-call engagement and vertical video producers, contracted photographers and videographers, and agencies
- Set content priorities, oversee publishing cadence, and ensure quality, editorial integrity, and brand alignment across channels
- Monitor social performance and audience trends, producing actionable insights, recommendations, and monthly performance reports
- Stay up-to-date with emerging social media trends, best practices, and platform updates, as well as Bay Area cultural trends, to inform content strategy
Influencer & Creator Strategy - Serve as primary point of contact for influencer agencies and creators
- Shape influencer and creator content strategy, ensuring alignment with content pillars, formats, and editorial standards
- Review briefs, proposed content, and final deliverables, providing strategic feedback and direction
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify content for amplification and integrate influencer content into overall social strategy
Paid Social - Lead paid social strategy to amplify high-performing content across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
- Optimize spend and targeting to support audience growth and engagement goals
- Analyze paid performance data and incorporate insights into ongoing content strategy
- Coordinate paid amplification with organic content calendars, influencer campaigns, and priority initiatives
Required Qualifications - 4-7 years of experience in social media strategy, digital marketing, influencer marketing, or audience development
- Proven experience managing creators, influencers, or agencies
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple content pipelines and initiatives simultaneously
- Experience analyzing social performance and translating insights into strategy
- Knowledge of Bay Area culture and trends, with ability to identify relevant content opportunities
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
