Job Description Purpose

The Business Product Owner (BPO) is the bridge between Business’s data strategy and the data delivery team(s). This person plays a pivotal role in defining products and prioritizing work that delivers exceptional customer experience and drives measurable business outcomes and value. This role partners closely with the Data Product Director to explore future opportunities, conduct product discovery, and ensure alignment between stakeholders and delivery teams.

The BPO is responsible for managing the roadmap, facilitating communication, leading efforts to understand and share user needs, and defining problems worth solving. The BPO also partners closely with the Delivery Lead to ensure the team has clarity in what is needed to execute the work and operates efficiently and effectively.

This role must be able to act decisively without having all the answers, demonstrating comfort with uncertainty and the ability to move forward using sound judgment, adaptability, and a bias toward action.

Skills and Expertise

Discovery: Lead efforts to define; (1) what the work is, (2) why it is important, (3) who it will benefit, and (4) how it may impact other teams

Stakeholder Management: Actively engage with users, customers, stakeholders, and other Product Owners who have an interest in your roadmap to ensure their expectations are aligned with the roadmap and goals of the team

Roadmap Oversight: Maintain and evolve the product roadmap in JIRA and other tools, ensuring visibility, traceability, and alignment with strategic objectives. Proactively identify, document, and resolve dependencies across teams and initiatives, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely resolution and prevent bottlenecks. Strike the right balance of transform, improve, and run activities to maximize value delivery, meet defined goals, and give guidance to the delivery team

Enable Good Communication & Collaboration: Clearly articulate accomplishments, progress, and plans to invested stakeholders and empower team members to communicate and collaborate across teams.

Prioritization: Evaluate and rank backlog items, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer value.

Champion data governance and quality: Ensure data products adhere to data governance standards, support data integrity, and enable actionable insights for decision-makers

Drive Agility: Define epics and break down into actionable items, ensure clarity, engagement, and shared understanding of the customer and the work across the team

Team Empowerment: Foster psychological safety by encouraging open dialogue, surfacing risks early, and supporting team autonomy in decision-making

Agile Mindset: Apply agile principles to respond to change, iterate quickly, and continuously improve team processes and product outcomes

Primary Responsibilities Continuously engage with internal (CG) stakeholders and IT to identify key data usage, gaps and needs, and to prioritize and implement change.

Execute and drive the Strategy, Vision and Roadmap for data usage and/or transformation at RbA.

Manage, and execute the organizational change management approach for RbA retail network.

Identify, develop, and prioritize RbA network data enhancement requests. Partner with IT product owners to prioritize and develop roadmap for enhancements.

Responsible for understanding data roadmap from RbA technology vendors.

Manage network data communications for the RbA retail network for functional area.

Work Experience

5 years Salesforce or equivalent Technology Business Experience.

Ability to travel to retail locations up to 10% of the time.

Education

4-year degree preferred or minimum of 5 years equivalent business experience

Strong technical & analytical skills (either from formal education or through comparable work experiences).

Leadership Experience

Leadership skills are primarily a developmental focus for this role. May have some prior leadership experience in a previous role. Strong people influencer/leader.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to Director of Data and Analytic Products

Communication and Presentation Skills

Excellent ability to create presentations and communicate with senior leadership and retail network. Process oriented mindset.

Pay Range $99,216.00 - $153,784.00

  • PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
