THE ROLE

As our Paid Social Creative Strategist, you’ll lead the creative strategy behind all performance ad creatives at The Social Shepherd – owning the approach across TikTok, Meta, YouTube, and beyond.

You will lead ideation, write high-performing UGC-style scripts and static briefs, and oversee final creative sign-off. You’ll know how to turn data into insights, insights into ideas, and ideas into thumb-stopping ads.

Our clients are typically in DTC, retail and FMCG, spending $100K+ per month on Paid Social.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the creative strategy and output for paid social campaigns across TikTok, Meta, YouTube and more.
  • Lead ideation, scripting and narrative development for UGC-style and performance-first ad creatives.
  • Write compelling hooks, scripts and modular content frameworks built to convert
  • Review and sign off paid creatives (statics, video edits, UGC) – ensuring they align with performance data, platform best practices and brand voice.
  • Partner closely with Paid Media, Influencer and Creative teams to build scalable, testable creative strategies.
  • Use ad performance metrics to shape and refine creative direction – including A/B testing and rapid iteration.
  • Build and evolve frameworks for testing, learning, and scaling high-performing content
  • Develop strong creative briefs for creators and editors, setting clear direction on structure, tone and CTA.
  • Help shape and grow a dedicated performance creative function, with scope to build a team.
  • Stay sharp on platform trends, new formats, algorithm updates and ad innovations – and apply them with purpose.
  • Contribute to pitches and new business, bringing creative firepower and paid expertise.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience briefing and overseeing high-performance DTC ad creatives.
  • You're working in a Creative Strategist capacity now, whether at a DTC brand or in an agency.
  • Strong grasp of platform-specific creative best practices and ad formats
  • Hands-on experience navigating Meta and TikTok Ads Manager.
  • Ability to analyse creative performance and turn insights into better briefs and better work
  • Comfortable reviewing and signing off creative – with a clear sense of what “great” looks like.
  • Strategic and commercially minded – able to balance creativity with ROI
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments
  • Curious, adaptable and proactive – always looking for the next creative edge

Compensation Range: $70,000 to $79,500 annually.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant, along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
