The Reputation and External Communications Senior Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding the company's online reputation and external brand presence. This position serves as a key strategic partner to the VP of External Communications and Media Relations, managing the end-to-end process for all media inquiries and enhancing executive visibility. The Sr. Specialist develops and executes an overarching reputation management strategy, leveraging third-party monitoring systems to build the brand across multiple online channels. The role is a core part of Pennymac's reputation, external communications and executive profiling efforts. This position supervises all social media community and external reviews. The role is responsible for overseeing how the social media and reputation response teams communicate across all platforms, and provides executives with detailed reports on key findings.

The Reputation and External Communications Senior Specialist will:* Oversees and executes responses to all social media inquiries, including reviews, comments, and mentions

  • Provide direction and supervise the communications of other consumer response team members to maintain a consistent brand voice and timely response rates across platforms
  • Monitors community engagement on social media for trends, comments, and cusotmer feedback
  • Review, refine, and present analytical data from the consumer response team to executives and stakeholders to ensure they understand evolving trends in consumer complaints and their implications
  • Act as a direct liaison between Corporate Marketing and internal stakeholders requesting assistance with external communications
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers to enhance the company's brand reputation
  • Directly communicate with external media agencies to create press releases, biographies, and other communication materials
  • Assist in drafting copy for award announcements and urgent executive press mentions, ensuring a rapid turnaround for timely social media posts
  • Directly report any crisis customer complaints to media relations, production, servicing, and legal, while managing social media communications across platforms
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, investor relations, and product teams, to align messaging and campaigns
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate communication of company initiatives and developments
  • Provide guidance on effective communication strategies for different target audiences
  • Research and provide data for various awards and accolades, while also ensuring all company accolades are current and up-to-date by conducting quarterly reviews to identify necessary changes for various marketing promotions
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned as it relates to other marketing functions for Pennymac and Olympic/LA28 efforts

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus
  • 4+ years experience in public relations, brand management, and reputation management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, social media management tools, and analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and branding elements
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle crises, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
