DDF operates five national programs as well as Duke Farms and Shangri La, two centers that serve the public directly. POSITION The Creator Fellowship at DDF is a unique opportunity for emerging digital creators to shape how DDF connects with a broader, more diverse audience. who are passionate about social change and savvy in digital storytelling. As a Creator Fellow, you will partner closely with DDF's Influence & Marketing team to develop digital content that amplifies DDF’s mission, values, and the work of its grantees. This pilot fellowship is part of our effort to expand our impact by connecting with new audiences through imaginative digital storytelling. We’re seeking a digitally fluent, culturally aware creator with a sharp point of view and a passion for social change.

YOUR IMPACT AT DDF

As a Creator Fellow, you will:* Produce Compelling Content That Amplifies DDF’s Mission

  • Create original, high-quality digital content, including short-form videos, visual graphics, and editorial series, that brings visibility to the foundation’s work and engages new audiences with DDF’s history, values and impact.

  • Develop and execute one or more narrative-driven series (e.g., docu-style videos, visual essays, social-first storytelling arcs) that reflect your unique creative lens.

  • Chronicle your own creator journey through vlogs, visual essays, or process content to inspire future fellows and provide transparency into the digital creative process at DDF.

  • Increase Digital Reach and Engagement Across Platforms

  • Adapt content for multiple platforms using audience behavior insights and analytics, collaborating with the Influence & Marketing team to meet established goals related to reach, growth and engagement.

  • Contribute to Strategic Campaigns and Ideation

  • Participate in campaign development and creative brainstorming that align with DDF’s program milestones and cultural moments, while identifying opportunities to co-create with influencers, artists, or other storytellers.

  • Demonstrated experience creating your own digital content from conception through capture, development, editing and publishing across widely used social and digital platforms.

  • Proven ability to tell stories in an engaging way on social platforms.

  • Video editing experience is required.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities and communication skills.

  • Strong digital skills with experience in Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, InDesign, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro and Photoshop.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; A team player and self-starter who balances taking initiative and working across a distributed team.

  • Ability to work outside traditional business hours including weekends and evenings, as well as willingness to travel to events and meetings held offsite.
