Job Description Summary See’s Candies is looking for an enthusiastic PR & Social Media Intern to effectively support both the Public Relations and Organic Social Media operations as part of the Marketing team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across both public relations and social media efforts, contributing to content planning, online engagement strategies, media outreach and supporting our influencer program. You will also participate in planning and organizing events and activations, while building a strong foundation in the integrated day-to-day operations of PR and social media.

This will be an eight week-long internship. You will work in the South San Francisco office four days a week (Monday-Thursday) and virtually on Fridays for approximately 40 hours total per week. Start and end date are flexible based on University schedule.

Our ideal internship candidates are self-motivated, ambitious, and detail-oriented.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $27-$30 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Description Position Responsibilities: Public Relations and Events

  • Conduct research on prospective opportunities, compile relevant information and provide recommendations to the team.
  • Build media lists on Cision and Muck Rack
  • Assist in compiling VIP mailers for celebrities, influencers, and media
  • Monitor trends and industry news
  • Monitor media coverage and summarize into a weekly report
  • Assist with in-store event planning and logistics (Grand Openings, media events, etc.)
  • Research and identify partnership, sponsorship, awards and event opportunities

Social

  • Conduct research on current social media trends and brand competitors; present content and influencer opportunities as they arise
  • Assist in reporting weekly social media metrics
  • Opportunity to create and edit video and still assets for core social channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
  • Support Social Media Marketing Manager with management of influencer content during campaigns

Required Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Familiar with Microsoft 365 including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Preferred

  • Past internships in Public Relations and/or Marketing
  • Previous experience with PR platforms including Cision, PRNewswire, Muck Rack,
  • Portfolio of past writing samples
