Associate, Earned Digital Connector Golin Chicago is hiring an Associate, Digital Connector who will play an essential role in earning attention for our clients. Your job: use an obsession with culture and digital trends to make our brands famous on social and within traditional media.

Our ideal candidate thrives in the fast-paced world of social media, understands what makes it tick and how to spot social-first engagement-based creative opportunities to help our clients win in social and in traditional media.

Role Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day media outreach, community management, influencer relations and/or paid media
• Begin building relationships with media contacts/outlets/influencers
• Build your knowledge of your client’s brand and the industry
• Develop strong research skills (audits, monitoring, media/influencer list building, etc.)
• Coordinate logistics and assist with event/meeting planning
• Develop an understanding of what content will drive coverage and conversations
• Stay up to date on culture and emerging trends and keep team members in the know and flag relevant opportunities
• Grow knowledge of basic 21st century PR skills: earned media (social and traditional editors), strong writing & editing skills, event/meeting management & logistics support
• Maintain a basic understanding of all media competencies including messaging, strategy, outreach, paid media, integrations, events and content placement
• Create basic media, social, influencer or paid plans with direction
• Help track and maintain results reporting

Skills Needed To Be Successful In The Role

• 1-2 years PR-related experience, inclusive of internships
• A general understanding of how to earn media attention (both social and traditional)
• Understand basic mechanics of all relevant social platforms
• Understand the role of paid across all relevant platforms
• Ability to meet deadlines for assigned tasks and have the ability to, when needed, ask for help prioritizing your work
• Has clear and concise writing and editing skills

Produces strong, quality work and constantly seek to improve your work

Salary Range: $40,000 USD - $55,000 USD Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
