What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Digital Marketing Manager will play a hands-on role in raising awareness, relevancy and purchase intent among priority consumer audiences for both the USA and Canada. You won't be architecting the big-picture strategy, but you will be the steady heartbeat that brings our plans to life — executing, optimizing and elevating consumer experiences.
Owned & Paid Social Media
- Plan and manage organic content calendars across TikTok, Meta, and LinkedIn, aligning with broader brand priorities, product stories and seasonal moments
- Build, launch, and optimize advertising campaigns across Meta and TikTok (with future expansion onto other platforms based on business need, brand fit and consumer preference)
- Optimize channel mix, posting cadence and content formats based on performance signals and audience behavior
- Support always-on and campaign-based efforts for launches, seasonal programs, promotions, and brand storytelling
- Monitor engagement with empathy and a little sparkle — jumping into conversations, boosting brand love, and surfacing consumer insights in a timely manner
- Stay ahead of platform changes, new formats, cultural moments, and emerging best practices
- Develop and test audience/lookalike segments, creative variations, placements, and bidding strategies
- Partner with creative agencies and internal team members to brief, validate and monitor advertising activities to build performance benchmarks
Influencer Marketing
- Assist with creator outreach and partnership management (from briefing through content review and reporting) while helping build a network of trusted creators who authentically bring our brand to life.
- Partner closely with agencies to identify, vet and activate strong creator talent, supporting full process and activation to ensure authenticity to the brand
- Track performance, gather learnings, and bring forward recommendations on formats, personas, and investment levels
- Support influencer-driven activations tied to launches, holidays, promotions, retailer programs and cultural moments
- Maximize our influencer investment by leveraging content/assets with sales and ecommerce to ensure visibility and consistency across digital touchpoints
DTC & Retailer Support
- Update DTC and support eCommerce/eTail via PDPs, marketplace/storefront, onsite merchandising blocks, and navigation as needed
- Implement SEO/AEO best practices to increase discoverability, leveraging AI tools for expedited attention and improvements
- Monitor site analytics to identify friction points and collaborate with eCommerce teammates on improvements
- Support product launch readiness and campaign storytelling through thoughtful on-site changes
CRM & Lifecycle Marketing
- Support the planning, building, and deployment of CRM campaigns (email, SMS, and other channels as needed).
- Maintain and update lifecycle flows, ensuring messages align with product launches, seasonal moments, and promotional priorities.
- Partner with Shopper & Ecommerce teams on segmentation needs, cross‑sell opportunities, and personalized touchpoints.
- Monitor performance (open rates, CTR, conversion, unsubscribes) and optimize messaging, cadence, and segmentation based on insights.
- Ensure CRM content reflects our brand’s Jester × Caregiver tone — helpful, warm, and delightfully human.
- Collaborate with brand, creative, and digital peers to keep messaging fresh, consistent, and connected across channels.
Social Commerce
- Support the implementation of social commerce initiatives across TikTok Shop and Instagram Shop from end-to-end project support
- Build workflows for product onboarding, organic + paid content linking, and promotional mechanics
- Partner with creators, influencer agencies, and paid teams to build a social commerce engine that scales as the business grows
- Partner with external broker partners on retail/shopper activities that could be leveraged across this new sales channel
Affiliate Marketing
- Help us stand up a fresh, performance-minded affiliate channel from the ground up; embracing a test-learn-optimize-perfect approach
- Evaluate platform partners and agencies to identify the right approach for our brand and budgets
- Support onboarding, offer setup, tracking configuration, content requests, and optimization cycles
- Build foundational reporting and performance readouts
AEO, SEO & SEM
- Support how consumers find us (whether typed, spoken or assisted by AI) across DTC and ITC activities
- Optimize on-site content, metadata, blog assets, FAQs, and PDPs; bringing the same attention to detail on how we approach
- Stay ahead of algorithm changes and new AI search discovery surfaces
- Build and manage Google Ads campaigns, including: keyword curation, bid strategies, negative terms and extensions
- Report on performance and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Monitor keyword trends, competitive rankings and emerging search behaviors
- Run cross-channel learnings to identify overlaps with paid social and SEO
Reporting, Insights & Optimization
- Pull daily/weekly social performance reads to identify trends and optimization opportunities to keep us ahead of the competition curve
- Build monthly dashboards and summaries across paid, owned, influencer, affiliate and DTC to start tying activation to business impact
- Identify opportunities to optimize creative, audiences, formats, budgets and flows
- Demonstrate how digital activations ladder into awareness, relevancy, and conversion outcomes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the connective tissue across marketing, shopper, ecommerce, sales and external digital partners/agencies
- Work closely with Shopper & Ecommerce teams on integrated digital + retail activations with a focus on launch readiness and building brand superiority
- Support launches, seasonal campaigns, brand storytelling, retailer partnerships and promotional plans
Other Duties & Tasks
- Participates in and leads special projects and assignments as required
- Participates in all other miscellaneous and departmental tasks as required
- Attends departmental/cross-functional meetings
- Travel and overnights as needed (ex. tradeshows, conferences, retailer meetings, etc.)
What You’ll Bring to SimplyProtein®
You Have …
- A bachelor’s degree in a related study (e.g. Marketing, Digital Marketing, Social Marketing & Advertising, Commerce, Digital Design, etc.)
- 5+ years of hands-on digital marketing experience in fast‑paced, growth‑minded environments
- Demonstrated experience working directly within multiple digital platforms, including (but not limited to) Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Shopify, Google Ads, GA4, scheduling tools, influencer platforms (e.g. Impact), CRM/email tools, affiliate platforms (e.g. Tagger) and analytics dashboards
- Proven capability managing a digital media mix, activating campaigns yourself (not just briefing agencies) and optimizing based on signals, insights, and consumer behavior
- Experience supporting (and elevating) brand storytelling, new product launches, retailer activations, seasonal campaigns and promotional pushes
- Exposure to or collaboration with cross-functional teams such as brand, shopper, product, eCommerce, sales, customer service and external partners
- Previous work with influencers, creators, or affiliates or have managed agency partners and external collaborators
- A spirit of curiosity, resourcefulness, and kindness — you approach problems with playfulness, perseverance and a desire to make things better
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook); proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel is essential to perform this role
- Effective written, verbal and presentation communication with the ability to make “difficult” data approachable for diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency with numbers with an ability to turn data into actionable insights; helping teams understand what’s working, what’s not, and what to try next
- In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms and best practices
- Ability to analyze consumer metrics, reports, and trends with application to the business plan and strategy
- Strong project management and managerial skills and are comfortable asking for help to ensure clarity (we feel the only bad question is the one not asked!)
- High level of accountability and able to hold self and others accountable to meet commitments
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with other departments
