What we need:

We are looking for a skilled Social Media Strategist with Business to Consumer (B2C) experience who understands

how to grow reach, subscriptions, and visibility organically while supporting revenue impact. This is not a typical

social media posting position; it is a marketing personality role.

The SMS will act as: Investigator - identifying what truly resonates with our audience, Gatekeeper - protecting brand

voice, integrity, and relevance. Strategist - translating analytics into action. Connector - immersing yourself in our

community and directing conversation. The Social Media Strategist knows when to use short-form content, video

captions, hooks, timing, and tone to capture attention, and the SMS knows when to listen. Responsibilities include developing a cohesive social media strategy, overseeing visual design, copywriting, customer service, and paid advertising. Under the umbrella of shaping the public’s experience of our mission, this role focuses on storytelling, community education, and the creation of a supportive digital space for career development. All content, engagement, and campaigns are designed to build trust, increase visibility, deepen community connection,

and guide audiences toward meaningful action.

The SMS will collaborate with our VP of Marketing, Digital Marketing Director, and Market Researcher.

This role requires emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance professionalism with authenticity when:

  • Creating engaging content
  • Running effective campaigns
  • Interacting with audiences and page communities
  • Analyzing performance across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop thorough social media strategies that align with business objectives
  • Create and manage content calendars to ensure consistent posting
  • Research current trends and analyze the competitive landscape
  • Monitor platform trends, workforce conversations, and cultural moments while maintaining brand integrity
  • Think broadly and strategically about brand positioning and audience growth

Content Management:

  • Develop and execute ETO’s social media strategy across platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms
  • Create and publish content that reflects employment therapy career growth, emotional wellness, and professional development
  • Ensure visual and written cohesion across all channels

Community & Engagement:

  • Actively reply to comments, messages, and discussions to build trust and immersion
  • Promote online advocacy and build relationships with influencers
  • Manage customer interactions and provide support
  • Support campaigns related to employer partnership programs, events, and thought leadership
  • Plan and execute campaigns designed to increase reach, visibility, and subscriptions
  • Support employer partnerships, events, and thought leadership initiatives
  • Understand how content contributes to the top and middle of the funnel

Analytics & Insight:

  • Track KPIs and understand what the data is actually telling us
  • Report insights clearly to the VP of Marketing and leadership
  • Translate analytics into content decisions, testing, and iteration
  • Balance performance data with human response and community feedback

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Creative, and PR teams for integrated efforts.
  • Collaborate with leadership and career experts to translate insights into accessible, engaging content

.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of four years of experience is required, including a prior position as a Social Media Coordinator.
  • Proven experience managing social media for a professional service brand, mission-driven organization, or personal brand.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to convey empathy, clarity, and credibility.
  • Experience creating or directing short-form video content
  • Deep understanding of platform-specific best practices (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to grow engagement and subscriptions organically
  • Comfort engaging with topics related to employment stress, career change, and personal development.
  • Able to adapt quickly, recognizing that there may be a sense of urgency in certain situations to stay aligned with the human capital news cycle.
  • Must have digital marketing experience in SEO basics, familiarity with AIO, paid social know‑how, algorithm awareness, and reading analytics tools.
  • Platform expertise with a solid understanding of Instagram, X, TikTok, Reddit, and LinkedIn, including platform-specific best practices.
  • Experience building campaigns, mapping content plans, setting goals, and tracking results.
  • Experience scheduling content and using tools like Hootsuite, Canva, and analytics dashboards.
  • Must be a creative thinker.
  • Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines, working well under pressure.
  • Capable of solving problems.
  • Works well with others but can work independently
  • Must work on-site or live in the Nashville area with a willingness to visit headquarters 7-10 days out of the month.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in workforce development, education, mental wellness, or career coaching industries.
  • Basic understanding of analytics, social insights, and performance tracking.
  • Experience working with content calendars, brand guidelines, and collaborative teams.
