About Bask & Lather Co. Bask & Lather Co. is a fast-growing, family-founded haircare brand built on results, culture, and community. What started as a kitchen remedy has evolved into one of the most recognized textured-hair brands in the U.S., known for authentic storytelling, product efficacy, and a deeply engaged audience.

We are entering a critical growth phase. Our social platforms are not just marketing channels. They are brand infrastructure. This role exists to lead that function at a senior level.

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Social Media & Content Marketing Manager to own and lead Bask & Lather’s organic social and content strategy across all platforms. This role sits at the intersection of brand, culture, storytelling, and performance.

This is a senior role, not a posting or scheduling position. You will define content strategy, set creative standards, lead a team, and directly influence how the brand shows up in culture and converts community into long-term customers.

You are accountable for brand perception, content quality, and organic social performance across TikTok, TikTok Shop, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.

How we show up online is how the brand is experienced. This role owns that responsibility.

Core Responsibilities

Social & Content Strategy Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end organic social and content marketing strategy across all platforms.
  • Define and evolve Bask & Lather’s social content framework. Education, storytelling, culture, community, and conversion.
  • Serve as the steward of brand voice, tone, and point of view across every social touchpoint.
  • Translate business goals, launches, and cultural moments into cohesive content strategies.
  • Anticipate risks and proactively guide messaging, moderation standards, and response strategy.

Campaign Concepting & Execution

  • Lead ideation, planning, and execution of social-first campaigns, launches, and key moments.
  • Develop social narratives that resonate culturally while supporting brand and business objectives.
  • Own campaign execution from concept through post-mortem analysis.
  • Optimize content and campaigns in real time based on performance, sentiment, and audience behavior.

Content Direction & Quality Control

  • Set creative direction for short-form video, reels, static, and live content.
  • Direct internal creators and social team members to ensure content meets brand and performance standards.
  • Maintain consistency in visual identity, storytelling quality, and messaging across platforms.
  • Step in on camera or in the field when needed to capture high-impact content.

Community, Trust & Brand Perception

  • Own community engagement strategy and standards across all platforms.
  • Ensure comments, DMs, and live interactions align with brand values and voice.
  • Monitor sentiment, feedback, and cultural signals to inform content and brand decisions.
  • Build authentic relationships with the audience that drive loyalty and trust.

Influencer, Creator & Amplification Strategy

  • Own organic influencer and creator strategy from sourcing through execution and analysis.
  • Provide creative direction to creators to ensure alignment with brand positioning and campaign goals.
  • Partner with PR, paid media, and brand teams to amplify key narratives and moments.

Performance, Insights & Accountability

  • Own organic social KPIs, reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Translate insights into clear strategic and creative recommendations.
  • Conduct competitive and cultural analysis to continuously refine strategy.
  • Confidently present performance, insights, and rationale to leadership.

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Lead, mentor, and set standards for the social team.
  • Establish playbooks, guidelines, workflows, and best practices.
  • Ensure consistency, discipline, and excellence as the brand scales.

Qualifications Experience

  • 5+ years of social media and content marketing experience for consumer, beauty, lifestyle, or cultural brands.
  • Demonstrated success leading organic social strategy with measurable impact.
  • Strong portfolio showing campaign-level thinking, storytelling, and creative direction.
  • Experience working closely with founders or senior leadership preferred.

Creative & Strategic Skill Set

  • Strong creative point of view beyond trends.
  • Proven ability to develop brand narratives and campaign storytelling.
  • Excellent copy instincts and visual judgment.
  • Comfortable directing content and appearing on camera when needed.
  • Proficiency with tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar.

Leadership & Mindset

  • Strategic, proactive, and accountable.
  • Confident owning outcomes and setting standards.
  • Data-informed but creatively driven.
  • Strong collaborator who elevates team performance in a fast-paced environment.

You Bring

  • Hustle. Resourceful, proactive, and willing to think outside the box.
  • Ownership. A positive, solutions-first mindset when facing obstacles and the ability to adapt quickly.
  • A Social Culture Champion. Genuine enthusiasm for culture, what’s trending, what’s next, and how to keep the brand relevant by being part of the conversation.
  • Cool Under Pressure. Calm, influential, and emotionally intelligent in fast-moving situations.
  • Collaborative Style. Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, able to lead teams and work within them through constant change.

Success Metrics

  • Strong, positive brand sentiment and community trust
  • Consistent, high-quality content and brand storytelling
  • Meaningful engagement and organic growth
  • Successful social-first campaigns tied to brand and business goals
  • Reduced brand risk through proactive moderation and messaging discipline

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a junior or execution-only role
