Job Title: Development Intern

Job Description:

We are looking for a Development Intern to join our team at Feeding Westchester for the summer! Reporting directly to the Manager, Individual Giving, the Development intern plays a critical role in supporting Feeding Westchester’s efforts to build awareness about our mission, services, needs and successes, as well as to position the organization in leading hunger-relief in Westchester County. We are looking for someone that has a desire to learn the Development and food banking functions within the non-profit sector while assuming some executive administrative functions on behalf of the team. This is a great stepping stone as it will provide exposure to many different aspects of non-profit work.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Manager, Individual Giving, on the logistics and coordination of our new Hunger Youth Committee

  • Assist in planning and executing special projects within the Peer-to-Peer program, and donor stewardship activities, such as volunteer projects and donor recognition events

  • Assist in the development of fundraising materials and management of platforms

  • Provide support in maintaining relationships with donors and supporters, including summer newsletter mailing

  • Assist in tracking and analyzing fundraising data and compiling reports for management

  • Conduct research to identify potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities

  • Provide general administrative support to the fundraising department, such as creating informational folders, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Ability to problem solve and learn new concepts quickly
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team structure
  • Interest in influencer marketing, fundraising and nonprofit work; experience a plus
  • Passion for hunger relief
