What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Manager of Brand and Book Marketing, the Book and Audience Marketing Manager bridges title marketing with audience development by leading influencer strategy, community growth, social media channels, and seasonal campaigns that strengthen reader engagement and amplify book launches. This hybrid role both executes launch plans for select titles and builds sustainable audience ecosystems that extend reach, nurture loyal readers, and drive ongoing discovery of new releases and backlist titles. Working collaboratively with Book Marketers, Digital Marketing, Sales, Acquisitions, and Authors, this position ensures our books are launched effectively, and continue to be found, shared, and read.

  • Own marketing strategy and execution for a select, audience-driven titles, including brands, Bible studies, kids’ books, and repackaged backlist
  • Develop positioning, messaging, and launch plans in alignment with publishing and sales goals
  • Coordinate with authors, internal teams, and partners to ensure cohesive and timely launches
  • Support broader launch efforts for priority titles through audience and community amplification
  • Develop and manage relationships with creators, partners, ministries, and advocates who extend reach and deepen impact
  • Plan and execute seasonal and thematic initiatives (e.g., reading challenges, Bible study campaigns, special series) that serve both audience growth and book launches
  • Create opportunities for repeat interaction with authors, brands, and publishing initiatives across owned and earned touchpoints
  • Track performance and refine community and partnership strategies based on reach, engagement, and alignment
  • Own strategy, voice, and execution for publisher social media channels
  • Oversee day-to-day management of social media campaigns.
  • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers on social media platforms.
  • Provide graphic design direction for social media assets and deliverables.
  • Supervise all aspects of incoming messages and social media interaction with customers and ensure a positive customer service experience.
  • Plan content that supports launches, seasonal initiatives, and evergreen discovery
  • Collaborate with Book Marketers and Digital Marketing to ensure alignment across campaigns
  • Monitor engagement, trends, and platform performance to continually improve impact
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Three years of experience in marketing, social media management, audience engagement, or consumer-facing roles
  • Experience managing multiple projects, audience-focused initiatives, marketing campaigns
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, email, websites, SEO, and analytics
  • Ability to think both creatively and analytically, using data to inform decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Alignment with and commitment to Moody Publishers’ mission and values
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in publishing, preferably Christian publishing or faith-based content
  • Understanding of audience development and community engagement
  • Biblical or theological training (formal or informal)
  • Google Analytics certification (or willingness to obtain)

Work Environment/Conditions

This is a full-time position, generally scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed. The role may be performed in a hybrid capacity for candidates within the Chicagoland area, or fully remote for candidates located outside of Chicagoland.

Some statewide and limited international travel will be required.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
