JOB SUMMARY

JOB SUMMARY The Social Media Specialist is responsible for executing and supporting social media marketing efforts at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. This role works closely with Database Marketing/Advertising, Entertainment, Event & Promotions, Hospitality, and Human Resources to ensure the brand is consistently and positively represented across all social platforms. The Social Media Specialist helps create a dynamic, engaging digital environment for guests and employees that reflects the excitement and quality of the in-person casino experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Social Media Content Management* Design, execute, and manage campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, and other social media platforms, including both property and employment channels.

  • Develop monthly content calendars for leadership review and approval.
  • Audit and maintain brand standards related to tone, voice, and curated content mix.
  • Research and monitor effective social media campaigns and emerging trends to continually evolve channel strategy.
  • Engage with audiences by responding to public comments and private messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor social channels to identify potential issues and resolve them directly or escalate to appropriate management when necessary.
  • Independently create original content, including:
    • Capturing and editing photography
    • Creating and editing video content
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accuracy and alignment of published content.
  • Provide leadership insights into digital and social media trends across platforms.

Advertising Agency & Public Relations Coordination* Brainstorm and collaborate with advertising and PR agencies on campaign concepts and influencer initiatives.

  • Coordinate influencer visits, including:
    • Working with the advertising agency to determine length and timing of stay
    • Booking hotel, restaurant, cabana, and transportation arrangements
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for influencers
  • Support paid social media efforts by:
    • Supplying requested creative elements
    • Providing feedback on agency-developed concepts
    • Proofreading content and coordinating approvals
  • Assist with PR firm inquiries, including:
    • Supplying requested materials
    • Proofreading captions, press releases, and related content
    • Acting as a liaison between the firm and internal teams

Analytics & Performance Reporting* Partner with department leaders to understand organizational goals related to brand growth, customer engagement, product offerings, and hiring needs.

  • Analyze social media performance metrics independently and in collaboration with the advertising agency.
  • Assist in developing reports centered on campaign and content performance.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to management to improve social engagement and customer experience.
  • Learn and maintain proficiency in all required internal software systems.

Sponsorship & Event Coordination* Work with management and the advertising agency to determine sponsorship needs.

  • Request and coordinate creative materials, coupons, programs, and promotional giveaway items.
  • Assist with delivering, setting up, and staffing sponsorship booths as needed.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES* Support the marketing team during on-property events.

  • Assist with on-site photo and video shoots.
  • Help request and integrate monthly promotional advertising into social media plans.
  • Proofread guest-facing communications, including mailers and email campaigns.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and current car insurance; ability to use a personal vehicle for work-related travel is required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE* Preferred background in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Entertainment Management, Event Management, Business Communication, or Communication and Digital Media Studies.

What You Will Need* Excellent project management, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, CapCut, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Professional written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to confidently communicate with individuals and groups while coordinating social media shoots and campaigns.
  • Capacity to learn new computer systems quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and represent the company positively.
  • Commitment to upholding integrity and compliance standards required within a regulated gaming environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT* Ability to move throughout all areas of the casino, including bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and gripping as required.

  • Ability to work at a computer in an office environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment while responding calmly and making sound decisions.
  • Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues.
