JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Corporate Communications is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that build and protect the Beazer brand, engage key stakeholders, and advance corporate objectives. This leader will architect communication approaches tailored to distinct internal and external audiences, ensuring message clarity, consistency, and impact across all channels. The role oversees public relations, media relations, executive communications, employee engagement, corporate philanthropy through the Beazer Foundation, and the management of external communication partners.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Strategic Communications Leadership
- Develop and own the enterprise-wide communications strategy, aligning with corporate goals, brand positioning, and business priorities.
- Define audience-specific communication frameworks for key stakeholder groups including employees, homebuyers, investors, media, community partners, and industry influencers.
- Establish measurement frameworks and KPIs to assess communication effectiveness and continuously optimize approach.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CMO and executive leadership team on communication opportunities and risks.
External Communications & Public Relations
- Develop and execute external communication strategies that enhance brand reputation, drive positive media coverage, and support corporate positioning.
- Lead public relations efforts including proactive media outreach, press releases, thought leadership, and spokesperson preparation.
- Own crisis communications planning, protocols, and response—ensuring rapid, coordinated, and brand-protective action.
- Monitor and manage corporate reputation across traditional and digital channels, including social listening and review platforms.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to develop communication strategies that support home sales, community launches, and promotional campaigns.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
- Develop and lead internal communication strategies that foster employee engagement, reinforce company culture, and align teams with organizational goals.
- Create audience-specific communication approaches for corporate employees, field teams, sales associates, and construction personnel—recognizing distinct information needs and preferred channels.
- Oversee executive communications including CEO and leadership messaging, speeches, presentations, town halls, and company-wide meetings.
- Lead change management communications, ensuring employees understand and embrace organizational initiatives.
- Develop and manage internal communication channels and platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
Beazer Foundation & Corporate Social Responsibility
- Provide strategic communication support for the Beazer Foundation, including storytelling, impact reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and execute communication strategies that amplify Foundation initiatives and community impact.
- Collaborate with Foundation leadership to align philanthropic messaging with corporate brand and values.
Content Strategy & Partner Management
- Oversee content creation and editorial strategy across corporate channels including blogs, newsletters, multimedia storytelling, and corporate collateral.
- Manage relationships with external communication partners and agencies, including scope definition, performance management, and budget oversight.
- Ensure brand voice and messaging consistency across all internal and external communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role.
- Experience in real estate, homebuilding, construction, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing both internal and external communication strategies.
- Experience managing agency relationships and external communication partners.

Technical Knowledge & Experience: TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / CERTIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in digital communication platforms, social media management, content management systems, and analytics tools.
Physical Requirements: WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is primarily office-based, operating in a professional and climate-controlled environment. The majority of work is performed on a computer, requiring prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and viewing a screen. The work environment is generally quiet with minimal exposure to noise, hazards, or extreme temperatures. This position requires the ability to maintain focus and productivity in a desk-based setting, with occasional movement throughout the office for meetings or collaborative tasks. Occasional travel may be required for company events, media opportunities, or community engagement activities.
