As a Head of External Communications Vice President within the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Communications team, you will report to the Head of Communications for Marketing and work closely with the Marketing executive team and members of the Internal Communications team on 360-degree integrated marketing/communications campaigns. We are seeking a leader who can shape, develop and deliver standout campaigns while bringing stories to life with a modern, authentic voice. In addition, you will build compelling stories, bringing to life impactful communications/PR campaigns, and engaging with media and influential voices.
Job responsibilities
- Develop, present and execute strategic and tactical communications/public relations campaigns that lead business outcomes
- Serve as strategic communications counsel to the JPMorganChase Chief Marketing Officer and team leaders and managers
- Collaborate with internal and external Chase marketing support teams (social, brand/advertising, video, content), business leaders and support agencies to tell a holistic story
- Oversee management of communications/PR agency on campaign execution and measurement
- Closely coordinate with internal communications team members to pull through meaningful storylines within Chase
- Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm – both externally and among employees
- Collaborate with talent and influencer management team for PR purposes
- Require domestic and international travel
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 7 plus years of experience in a communications/PR or marketing role
- Proven experience in proactive and reactive media relations, and proactively executing public relations campaigns that resulted in positive press coverage and support business results; deep media relations expertise with strong relationships across business, finance and lifestyle media
- Executive communications experience – consulting directly with senior executives, internal subject matter experts who serve as topical spokespeople; exceptional writing and editing abilities
- Strong skills in building relationships and making collaborative decisions, with the confidence to work closely with teams and senior leaders; professional presence and strong presentation skills
- Talent for crafting engaging narratives and visual storytelling
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills, with experience partnering across functions
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at once, keeping deliverables on schedule and proactively identifying potential roadblocks
- A high degree of independence, energy and integrity, with respect for diverse perspectives and a strong sense of accountability
- Effective negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Experience using measurement tools to track and demonstrate results, and comfort and fluency with social media and multimedia platforms
- Agility, adaptability and a proactive mindset, able to deliver quality work quickly, even under tight deadlines or outside standard hours
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience working with events and experiences, creators and social media
- Experience working in a large company
- Experience working at, or leading work with, a public relations agency
- Experience working on an integrated marketing team
