General Summary of Duties:

The Director of Marketing directs the creation, execution, and ongoing analysis of the JW Marriott Nashville’s marketing strategy and related projects, specifically brand/creative, digital, communications, and experiential activation associated with the property’s objectives. This position collaborates with the Director of Sales and Marketing to develop the annual marketing plan to achieve both short and long-term revenue and positioning objectives.

Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

Leadership of Marketing Team

  • Manages and takes part in the execution of marketing activities and team, along with the day to day management of team performance.
  • Partners with Director of Sales and Marketing to develop the annual marketing plan to achieve both short and long-term revenue and marketing objectives
  • Directs the marketing team and agencies while liaseing with corporate and Marriott team in the design, production, and dissemination of marketing materials both internal and external, taking into account ROI at all times.
  • Manages website and works with agency to improve user experience and ROI from direct bookings.

Maximizing Revenue

  • Directs all marketing initiatives, projects and collateral production to ensure that sales and marketing objectives are achieved and that revenue opportunities are maximized.
  • Prepares and administers the departmental budget.
  • Develops marketing tools such as brochures, videos, presentations, promotional materials, direct mail and tradeshow graphics for sales and convention services.
  • Develops the internal cross-promotional marketing materials to maximize property wider revenue opportunities.
  • Lead all SEO strategies to maximize awareness and revenues for the property.
  • Responsible for the management of strategy and community development for all social media platforms both paid and organic for property and internal departments/outlets i.e. f&b and wellness.
  • Partner with 3rd party PR Agency to maximize organic media coverage that positively markets the hotel and actively create partnerships for national promotional opportunities.
  • Must have a local network of relationships that can be leveraged to establish partnerships and gain traction with local businesses, brands, entertainers, and influencers.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in Marketing for a hotel or a related industry
  • Extensive knowledge of digital, email marketing, and events
  • Previous work with analytics platforms i.e. Google Analytics
  • Demonstrated skills in supervising a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local health and safety regulations

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or related major required
