JOB DESCRIPTION
Non-Profit arts organization in Summerlin North is looking to hire a Public Relations and Social Media Manager with at least 3 - 5 years of experience in Media Relations, Content Creation, and Social Media Strategy. Background in performing arts and/or dance, theater, entertainment is helpful. This position is a salaried, full-time position with benefits. General administrative hours are Monday through Friday though hours may vary from week to week for PR and social media needs in addition to select evening and weekends for events and performances.
The Public Relations and Social Media Manager is an essential part of the Communications Department and the overall Marketing team at NBT. The position coordinates public relations and social media efforts for the organization and is a lead in the area of content creation – ideating, creating, implementing, and effectively providing content for various departments to promote, generate awareness, and propel the organization forward.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PR: Media Relations
- Manage existing media relationships while continuously working to develop new local and national relationships. Maintain current media list.
- Seek out and curate editorial opportunities to promote and generate awareness for the company’s professional performances, fundraisers, and overall organizational brand.
- Aid Director of Communications with internal and external communications including organizational messaging and language.
- Write and distribute press releases and other press materials and documents.
- Aid Director of Communications with creating a comprehensive PR plan for the Season that includes pitch strategies, content ideas, and growth plan and goals.
- Facilitate interviews, prepare speaking points, and schedule photo opps. Must be comfortable with speaking on the phone and coordinating press elements that fall outside of the typical workday.
- Coordinate media invitations and attendance, media tickets, and on-site press coverage during performance weekends, special events, and other opportunities.
- Managing schedules for company photographer and videographer; identify and assign in-house photo and filming opps as well as scheduling the photography and filming for the company’s professional main stage productions.
- Management of post-production assets: approvals, archives, distribution, etc.
- Manage departmental and cross departmental calendars.
- Additional PR administrative tasks as assigned including assisting Director of Communications with a variety of needs and outreach.
Social Media
- Manage current social media platforms through the Sprout Social Platform: Facebook (x2) Instagram (x2). Curate strategy and manage online reputation; generate content, plan posts and manage real-time content and engagement with frequency and consistency.
- Establish and grow new as well as existing but underdeveloped platforms including LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Coordinate with Director of Advertising and Marketing on digital advertising (i.e. paid ads on Meta, Google) to create alignment and consistency in timing, visuals, and messaging between paid and organic social media.
- Create a season long social media calendar and social media content plan (in conjunction with the PR and Media Relations plan).
- Work with graphic designer to share and collaborate on assets to create graphics and other necessary visuals needed for social and beyond.
- Work with other departments for social content support; maintain a regular cadence of touch bases and bimonthly meetings to ensure social needs are met throughout the organization.
- Stay current with social media technology/developments, especially with an eye towards systems that increase efficiency.
- Consistently generate creative content and present ideas to the team. Must be able to create content that can be utilized as part of an editorial pitch, a marketing eblast, or a social media campaign/series/post.
- Generate Sprout Social reports on a regular basis to monitor trends, algorithms, engagement, and other activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent writing and communication skills with ability to write creative copy, PR messaging, marketing and sales focused language, as well as organizational brand language.
- Extreme attention to detail with copy writing and editing experience.
- Must be proficient in PR and media relations best practices; understanding of the Las Vegas market and local PR industry; as well as knowledge of local writers, journalists, and media personalities (and their affiliated outlets), influencers, and other voices in the community.
- Must be proficient in all current social media platforms and their native analytics, algorithms, and tools to boost engagement and followers.
- Ability to analyze social media data and report on it.
- Knowledge of Sprout Social platform desired.
- Video editing and photo manipulation knowledge; working knowledge of basic Adobe products (photo and video), Canva, and MS Office.
- Sense of urgency is a must with tight deadlines on a weekly basis.
- Self-starter with ability to work autonomously while also understanding layered approval processes.
- Must be organized and detailed-oriented. Ability to manage multiple projects and plan ahead.
- Performing arts, theater, dance, and/or related entertainment background a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Salary: $65K - $70K DOE
