Overview: This hybrid position is located at our Corporate Office in St Petersburg, FL. Expectations for hybrid in-office schedule is three days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Due to the nature of the role, a****dditional ability and willingness to come in-office Monday and/or Friday or work some nights and weekends required based on business needs.
Our Champs Sports banner has an exciting opportunity in it's marketing department for a Senior Manager, Social Media, to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our social media presence across platforms. This role is responsible for shaping and driving the Champs Sports’ social strategy to strengthen our market position, grow brand equity, and deepen consumer connection. The ideal candidate is a social ninja, a strategic thinker, and a proven leader who can inspire teams and drive innovation in the ever-evolving social landscape. You will oversee social strategy, content, and engagement across platforms, ensuring alignment with brand priorities and business objectives while fostering authentic community connections.
This role will work cross-functionally to develop and execute social strategy that builds Champs Sports’ presence in the market, partnering closely with vendors and external agencies along with Creative, Media, and Product departments. This candidate should have a keen understanding of the retail and consumer landscape, with sharp focus and passion for sport culture. In the fast-paced world of social media, this is an exciting opportunity to lead socially-shareable marketing campaigns that drive thumb-stopping excitement.
Champs Corporate Office 570 Carillon Parkway St. Petersburg, FL 33716 Responsibilities:
- Lead the Champs Sports social strategy and execution in alignment with key priorities, ensuring high-shareability and premium brand voice across owned and paid social channels
- Support the development and execution of key brand events and tentpole brand campaigns, representing the brand on-site for real-time coverage and impactful engagement
- Drive platform strategy, content briefs, publishing cadence and engagement plans to deliver best-in-class storytelling on the right platform at the right time
- Direct social creative development, including briefs, asset requests, and content production
- Encourage hands-on social production where capability exists, leveraging the in-office studio, local stores, and key sport-culture moments to develop compelling content in alignment with key brand priorities
- Oversee influencer and creator partner relationships, and proactively explore new opportunities in alignment with social trends
- Own responsibility of the social budget and legal compliance
- Support the development of the broader social team and associated responsibilities, fostering creativity, collaboration, and performance excellence
- Monitor social performance, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to optimize strategy and ROI
- Leverage research to inform social strategies and identify whitespace opportunities, analyzing consumer insights, market trends, and competitive landscape to continuously drive innovation forward
- Ability and willingness to travel for brand activations, some nights and weekends required
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree; marketing or related field preferred
- Minimum of 4 years experience in social media, preferably in sport culture or retail entertainment
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a people manager
- Strong knowledge of social content editing platforms like Slate, CapCut or similar
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams)
- Comfortability with AirTable briefs and workflow
- Fluency in Adobe Photoshop preferred
- Passionate about sports, sport culture, sneakers and/or the retail industry
- Deep understanding of social platforms, consumer behavior, and cultural trends
- Proven ability to develop and execute highly shareable made-for-social content
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working across brand, creative and agency teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong creative acumen with ability to translate brand vision into compelling social content
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines

The annual base salary range is $105000 - $115000/ year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
