Overview:

This Internship is for COURSE CREDIT ONLY and is not a paid internship, though a paid opportunity may be available following the initial term.

The Bogues Group internship program offers hands-on experience in both communications and marketing. Our intern will be responsible for coordinating and executing BG and clients’ social media strategy, working across key platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence, public relations outreach, and brand visibility. The internship reports directly to the Project Manager.

Key Duties:

  • Work with the Project Manager and PR Strategist to refine social media strategy and best practices.
  • Assist in managing social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging.
  • Prepare weekly updates and reports to track growth and success rates of campaigns.
  • Create monthly client summaries and case studies.
  • Stay informed on new social media trends and adapt accordingly.
  • Ensure proper messaging is executed online.
  • Identify leaders and influencers (internal/external) and engage them in brand activities.
  • Assist with copywriting, proofing, and updating materials such as blogs, newsletters, press releases, and media alerts.
  • Conduct market research.
  • Support with general administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to take initiative, employ good judgment, and manage projects from beginning to end.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills (AP Style).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and anticipate needs.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • 10–12 hours of weekly availability.
  • Must be a current student at UNC Charlotte, Queens University of Charlotte, or Wake Forest University’s Charlotte campus.
  • Eager to apply classroom learning to real-world experiences.
  • Familiarity with digital media platforms and social media management/measurement tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Content Studio).
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of email marketing applications.
  • Must maintain confidentiality as this role involves access to sensitive information and high-profile clientele.

Compensation & Credit:
This internship is designed for students seeking course credit, though a paid opportunity may be available following the initial term. Incentives are also provided upon meeting benchmarks.

Location:
This is an in-person position based in Charlotte, NC. Applicants must be enrolled in a university within the Charlotte area (UNC Charlotte, Queens University, CPCC
or Wake Forest CLT campus).
