Overview

The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that builds brand awareness, strengthens thought leadership, and supports business growth within a highly technical, B2B-focused industry. This role oversees day-to-day social operations, content development, community engagement, and performance reporting across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate brings a balance of creative storytelling, strategic thinking, and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging, accessible content for professional audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Own and manage the overall social media strategy across platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, X, and emerging channels.
  • Plan, build, and execute a monthly social media calendar with consistent, high-quality content aligned to broader marketing initiatives.
  • Adapt content strategy to support new solutions, promotions, events, and product launches while maintaining a cohesive brand voice.
  • Ensure all content adheres to established brand standards, including visual identity, tone, and messaging consistency.

Content Creation & Development

  • Create original, platform-specific content including copy, graphics, photos, and short-form video.
  • Translate complex technical information into digestible thought leadership content such as infographics, educational posts, and expert insight videos.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, freelancers, and agencies to develop engaging and accurate content.
  • Capture photo and video content at offices, events, trade shows, and client locations as needed.
  • Own content from concept through publishing, including coordination, execution, posting, monitoring, and follow-up.

Community & Influencer Management

  • Manage day-to-day community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries across organic and paid social channels.
  • Proactively engage in professional groups and industry forums to increase brand visibility and credibility.
  • Identify, vet, and manage influencer and partner relationships, ensuring content is on-brand and performance is tracked.
  • Foster relationships with creators and industry voices to expand reach and engagement.

Analytics, Reporting & Optimization

  • Monitor performance across organic and paid social efforts, tracking KPIs such as engagement, reach, sentiment, and conversions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and trend monitoring to inform content and strategy recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver regular performance reports with actionable insights for marketing and leadership teams.
  • Ensure proper campaign tracking and link management using CRM and analytics tools.
  • Track marketing-qualified leads generated through social channels to measure impact on the sales funnel.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in social media, marketing, or communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience developing B2B-focused content with an emphasis on education, lead generation, and thought leadership.
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate complex technical or product information to professional audiences.
  • Strong experience with LinkedIn content strategy and platform-specific features.
  • Experience providing live or real-time social coverage for industry events or conferences.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with social analytics, reporting, and optimization.
  • Graphic design, video editing, and CMS experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, social advertising, and AI-powered content tools is a plus.
