Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America.
Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, nine technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 40,000 machines throughout North America.
Job Summary: The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing media strategies that increase brand awareness, engage target audiences, and drive business growth. This role involves working with internal teams, external media partners, and industry influencers to create and distribute content across various media platforms. The Media Specialist will manage the company’s media presence, including traditional, digital, and social media, and work to optimize content for maximum reach and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute media strategies to support business goals, product launches, and marketing campaigns.
- Identify and analyze target audiences to determine the most effective media channels and platforms for engagement.
- Plan and execute paid media campaigns, including digital, print, broadcast, and social media, ensuring alignment with brand objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and PR teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all media channels.
Content Creation & Distribution
- Create engaging content for a variety of media platforms, including blogs, press releases, social media posts, and video content.
- Work with internal teams to generate creative assets, such as graphics, videos, and written content, that support media campaigns.
- Distribute content across the appropriate media channels, including social media, websites, and industry publications, to maximize reach and engagement.
- Manage media calendars and schedules to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.
Media Buying & Partnerships
- Negotiate with media outlets to secure placements and advertising opportunities, ensuring cost-effective media buys.
- Manage media budgets and track campaign spending to stay within allocated budgets while maximizing ROI.
- Develop and nurture relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other third-party partners to expand the company’s media presence.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze media campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics, social media analytics, and other media tracking platforms.
- Provide regular reports on media performance, including key metrics such as reach, engagement, impressions, and conversion rates.
- Use insights and data to adjust and optimize future media strategies and campaigns.
Brand Representation & Public Relations
- Ensure that all media content is aligned with the company’s brand voice, values, and goals.
- Work with the public relations team to manage media inquiries, build brand reputation, and enhance public perception.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor media activities to keep the company’s media strategies competitive and innovative.
Required Qualifications & Skills;
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in media relations, media buying, or content creation, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of media planning, buying, and optimization across digital, print, and social platforms.
- Proven ability to create engaging content for different media platforms, including written, visual, and video formats.
- Experience using media monitoring and analytics tools to track campaign performance.
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Ads, Google Analytics, and social media platforms).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

- Approximately 25% of time
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
