Who We Are

CardWorks, Inc. is a diversified consumer finance service provider and parent company of CardWorks Servicing, LLC, Merrick Bank and Carson Smithfield, LLC.

CardWorks Servicing, LLC provides end-to end operational servicing functions for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans. We service consumer and small business loans across the credit spectrum and offers backup servicing and due diligence services to capital providers and trustees.

Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank. Merrick operates three main business lines: credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services.

Carson Smithfield, LLC provides a variety of post-charge-off debt recovery services, including digital self-service, IVR, live agent, and external agency management.

Position Summary:

This challenging role will support the Communications team in executing both internal and external communication initiatives, while monitoring/tracking and reporting analytics on communications campaigns, coordinating events, and ensuring all administrative tasks are completed. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive, creative, and analytical-thinking individual looking for a unique opportunity to develop expertise across multiple disciplines, while building key stakeholder/client relationships and advancing their corporate communications career.

Essential Functions:

Internal Communications

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing a variety of different content to support internal communications efforts across various channels and platforms (email, intranet, Teams).
  • Help manage intranet updates, including posting content, uploading resources and refreshing pages.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs and culture campaigns.
  • Create and maintain internal email templates and graphic assets (PoliteMail, Canva, Adobe Suite).
  • Build and administer various internal intake forms including RSVPs, surveys, and request forms (MS Forms, Lists, and other apps).
  • Assist with monitoring, collecting and organizing engagement metrics for communications reporting.
  • Support maintenance of distribution lists, helping ensure employees are properly segmented for targeted messaging.

External Communications

  • Support earned and paid media coverage by leveraging platforms like Qwoted to secure earned media coverage and recommending the cost ROI of paid media opportunities across CardWorks and company’s wholly-owned subsidiaries
  • Assist with award submissions and conference opportunities, create and maintain calendar for both, identifying the appropriate partners and participates across the organization to help execute.
  • Monitor media channels and generate insightful coverage reports.
  • Assist with outreach to media outlets, podcasts, influencers, and building strategic partnerships to grow brand awareness and paid and earned media placements

Event Planning & Support

  • Provide logistical support for corporate events such as town halls, appreciation days, and in-office celebrations.
  • Support Events Manager coordinate venue bookings, catering, support and volunteer staff, vendors, and technology setup for virtual, hybrid, and in-person events.
  • Assist in creating and distributing event communications (invites, agendas, follow-up summaries).

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain content calendars, project trackers, and monitor deliverables for internal and external communications projects and initiatives.
  • Manage team calendars, schedule meetings with key stakeholders, and prepare agendas.
  • Onboard new vendors and maintain existing vendor relationships and records.
  • Track invoices and process expense reports as needed.
  • Organize and maintain communication assets, templates, and archives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four (4) to five (5) plus years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field preferred
  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience with media relations and basic design concepts and tools/applications (Canva, Adobe Suite) is preferred

  • Ability to gather, analyze, and report out data and metrics as a valuable story.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and judgement skills.
  • Effective planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Creative mind-set with a strategic vision.
  • Detail-oriented with an eye for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

The salary range for this position, if located in NY Metro/NY State is $85,000 to $105,000. However, please note that the salary range will vary for other geographic areas.
