The Role:

Key responsibilities for this role include working closely with the team to support day-to-day operations of client accounts, execute tactics and produce deliverables as specified in client programs. These programs include content creation, national and international media relations, analyst relations, blogger relations, social media, news releases, speaking engagements, awards, industry monitoring and rapid response, writing, and ongoing materials development. Additionally, Assistant Account Executives participate in agency marketing, particularly agency social media efforts, and day-to-day operations of the agency.

This is a hybrid position based in either our Boston or Richmond office, with 3 remote days and 2 in-office days per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Press & Analyst Relations: Proactive and reactive outreach to reporters, analysts and influencers; pitch development; prepare briefing sheets and briefing books; build and maintain target lists. Conduct, analyze and provide sound recommendations based on research.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Track, analyze and summarize client, competitor and industry news and information with thoughtfulness and context; provide quality social media monitoring; create comprehensive and thoughtful reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports).
  • Event/Tradeshow Management and Support: Develop and/or manage guest list/invitations; Coordinate logistics – i.e. meals/travel/lodging/meeting space; Schedule and coordinate meetings with media/analysts/influencers; Manage promotion efforts.
  • Social Community Management:

Build and maintain a social media calendar; Identify and connect with individuals/organizations to build audience engagement; Respond to all relevant tagged posts and direct messages; Follow relevant accounts; Provide updates as needed.

  • Speaker & Awards Programs: Research speaking opportunities; build and maintain speaking and awards databases; manage speaking and awards calendar submissions; begin to pitch and secure engagements at industry conferences.
  • Content Creation: Write and edit materials (pitches, briefing sheets, speaking abstracts, executive biographies, social media, blog posts, bylines etc.).
  • Client Knowledge: Read industry articles, competitor coverage and client news to gain an understanding of industry trends, as well as clients’ business; watch, listen to and read national and world news daily; stay on top of current events to demonstrate understanding of the larger media landscape, including tech and general business trends.
  • Client Relations: Attend team meetings (virtually or in-person); demonstrate professional conduct and demeano
  • Account Management: Prepare activity reports, meeting recaps and client measurement presentations. Create and manage expense trackers for client out-of-pocket expenses. Conduct, analyze and provide sound recommendations based on research. Review work of Program Coordinator and interns, and help lead them to success.
  • Agency Operations: Track time and submit expense reports on time and support general agency administrative tasks. Participate in new business process by conducting prospect, competitor and/or industry research. Contribute to agency marketing efforts, including awards submissions, social media content/posts and/or blog posts. Represent Wireside well at all times.
  • Personal Accountability: Take ownership of actions, decisions and results – both positive and negative – and their impact on individual’s work and team.
  • Travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of Public Relations, Marketing, Communications experience, or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or related area of study.
  • Superb organizational, project and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Passion for creating excellent high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong spirit of collaboration, highly self-motivated and results-driven with a can-do attitude.
