Job Summary

The Sports Imports Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth within their assigned territory by building strong relationships with coaches, athletic directors, and other key stakeholders in the athletic community. This role involves travel (10%) for sales calls, trade shows, and events, as well as managing a full sales pipeline, delivering product expertise, and meeting sales targets. Success in this position requires exceptional relationship-building skills, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to lead and manage.

Key Accountabilities

Sales Calls and Travel

  • Conduct regular travel within the assigned territory to meet with coaches, athletic directors, and other key decision-makers.
  • Perform on-site visits to evaluate customer needs, deliver product demonstrations, and foster relationships.
  • Proactively schedule and execute sales calls to maintain a consistent presence with current and prospective customers.

Trade Shows and Events

  • Represent Sports Imports at trade shows, tournaments, clinics, and other industry events to showcase products and connect with potential customers.
  • Build brand awareness by networking with coaches, athletic directors, and influencers in the sports community.
  • Follow up on leads and connections made during events to drive sales opportunities.

Sales Pipeline Management

  • Maintain a full and active sales pipeline, including prospecting, lead qualification, and opportunity progression.
  • Use CRM tools to manage accounts, track activity, and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) related to pipeline health and deal closure rates.

Relationship Building with Coaches and Athletic Directors

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, positioning Sports Imports as the trusted partner for volleyball and athletic equipment.
  • Act as a reliable resource for clients, offering solutions and support that align with their goals and needs.
  • Provide ongoing communication and follow-ups to strengthen long-term client partnerships.

Product Expertise and Demonstration

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Sports Imports’ product line and its competitive advantages.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and product innovations to position Sports Imports as the market leader.

Meeting Sales Target Goals

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and revenue goals within the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and Regional Sales Manager to align on strategy and drive results.
  • Regularly review performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to ensure success.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, account management, or a related field, preferably within sports or athletic equipment.

Intangibles

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory, including occasional evening and weekend events (Travel is typically 10%) of the year.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Passion for sports and an understanding of the needs of coaches and athletic directors is a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
