Creative Strategy Director (Growth Performance)

Prose is looking for a Creative Strategy Director to lead the performance creative strategy efforts and drive the paid creative pipeline across haircare and skincare. You will lead an in-house team and manage multiple agency partners while partnering closely with Growth, Brand, Product, Analytics and Creative teams to deliver creative that is both on-brand and optimized to perform, maintaining target CPA and attracting high LTV customers.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience leading creative strategy for high-growth, direct-to-consumer brands, ideally in the premium subscription space. You pair sharp creative instincts with a data-driven mindset, translating insights into ideas that scale and drive conversion.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end creative and channel strategy for performance marketing across paid channels (Meta, Google, AppLovin, Pinterest, etc)
  • Build and maintain a creative testing and optimization framework, using insights (customer, competitive, etc) to continuously improve performance
  • Partner with Brand, Creative, and Growth teams to ensure creative is aligned, on-brand, and channel optimized to meet KPIs
  • Partner with Creative team to scale internal creative production capabilities, with a focus on video to drive creative diversification and aid pipeline health
  • Translate business and growth objectives into clear creative roadmaps, briefs, and testing plans to hit CPA targets and drive relevance with high LTV customers
  • Use AI tools to enhance workflows for ideation, iteration, and creative testing
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of two in-house strategists, setting clear priorities and expectations
  • Manage 3+ external agency partners, including onboarding, scope alignment, budget, performance management, and feedback
  • Collaborate with the Influencer team to craft and refine briefs for UGC and testimonial video content
  • Oversee the development and delivery of high-performing creative assets, ensuring quality, consistency, and speed
  • Analyze creative performance and communicate learnings and recommendations to Growth, Brand, and executive leadership stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the paid social creative team

Key candidate requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in growth marketing, creative strategy, or performance marketing
  • Experience in a DTC, e-commerce, or high-growth company
  • 4+ years of people management experience, with a proven ability to develop and lead small teams
  • Demonstrated experience managing agency partners and driving business results with ability to negotiate contract terms
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing channels and how Creative impacts key growth metrics
  • Deep understanding and thought leadership around performance marketing as it relates to crucial topics like GenAI, Algorithm updates, etc.
  • Experience with data analytics and creative reporting tools (Looker, Motion, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Paid social media and video platform expert with a proven, creative testing playbook

In the New York Area, the anticipated base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $200,000 annually. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills. This role will be a hybrid position based out of our Williamsburg office and the expectation is that this person will be in the office 3 days per week.
