The Resource Development Team at My Possibilities (MP) makes magic happen! As the Marketing and Communications Officer, you have the honor and privilege of telling the empowering story of who our HIPsters are and what they can do, through our strong and recognizable brand/voice. We are the link that connects them to the community by way of stories, showing the world how much they have to offer and how deserving they are of inclusion and opportunity. How you can add value
This role is a key member of the team. Through creative and innovative digital and print marketing, relationship management, and social media initiatives, you will enhance the MP brand and voice as a storyteller, providing education, advocacy, and support initiatives. You are the owner of MP’s overall digital marketing and communications strategic vision, ensuring we continue to make every day count for the HIPsters.
Essential functions
Digital and print marketing
- Work with MCM to develop and implement digital marketing strategies for MP that drive donors, funds, and awareness
- Ensure effective, branded marketing communications, including social media, online communications, and advertising
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends on social media and digital marketing efforts (i.e., Google Ads, Google Analytics, retargeting, etc.)
- Graphic design
- On-going and ad-hoc collateral creation – digital and print
- Assist MCM with MP website updates
- Photography and video needs, including content creation and editing
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of new and existing marketing campaigns and story telling
- Effectively communicate with all MP staff, HIPsters and their families, donors, and vendors
- Serve as an MP advocate and brand ambassador
Social Media
- Update, maintain, and engage in all MP social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
- Stay up to date on industry trends for the creation of relevant content and growing audiences across all social channels
- Support the MCM in monitoring and enhancing online traffic through evaluating MP’s website and online presence
- Knowledge of social media trends and legal guidelines
- Build brand visibility and thought leadership in partnership with MCM
Communications
- Write engaging and effective online media content and respond to social media inquiries
- Creatively plan and execute promotional campaigns (i.e. story writing, videos, third-party opportunities)
- Effectively communicate and create partnerships with media outlets (i.e. press releases/sponsorships), third-party vendors, key stakeholders, and influencers
- Handle internal and external communications while maintaining consistent voice and messaging in line with the MP brand and Media Policy
- Research new outlets and opportunities to share MP’s story across a broader region
Team engagement
- Track effectiveness of communication through various social media platforms, documenting monthly/quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Meet team goals as set by the Chief Development Officer and MCM
- Event support in tandem with the Resource Development Team
- Creation of internal meeting and external presentation slides for board meetings and other meetings
- Prepare agendas and action items for weekly RDT meetings
- Work with team to assure adequate supply of collateral materials and promotional items
- Oversee inventory of supplies and printed collateral and supplement as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Non-essential functions
- This position requires communicating with HIPsters’ families about photo/video release projects; gathering information for public relations stories; scheduling public relations opportunities that tell the MP story
Minimum qualifications
- Education - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field, preferred
- Experience with photography/videography, collateral and web design, and digital/social media platforms
- Proficiency in the following technology/skills – APA writing style, social media platforms, Canva, Office 365, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Wordpress, email campaign tools (Mailchimp or Virtuous); experience with Virtuous or other CRM preferred
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and valid car insurance required

- Polished verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, volunteers, Board members, donors, and prospective donors
- Knowledge or experience working with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
- Clear understanding of digital marketing channels, tools and analytics
- Results-driven, focus on metrics that show growth in audiences and conversion of donors
- Experience managing and growing a variety of social media/digital platforms (including scheduling tools) and media outlets
- Understanding of SEO
