Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Marketing & Publicity to lead brand awareness, press strategy, and audience growth for our new micro-drama vertical content app and content creation studio. This role sits at the intersection of entertainment, technology, and culture and will be responsible for shaping how the company is perceived by the press, industry partners, creators, investors, and viewers.

The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller with strong media relationships, deep experience in entertainment or digital media, and a hands-on approach to public relations and social media execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesPublic Relations & Communications

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy for the app launch, content slate, studio, and executive leadership
  • Write, edit, and distribute press releases, announcements, and media advisories
  • Pitch stories to entertainment, tech, business, and culture media
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and industry tastemakers
  • Coordinate press interviews, premieres, screenings, set visits, and announcement moments
  • Serve as point person for inbound press inquiries and media opportunities

Industry Events & Visibility

  • Identify, coordinate, and manage company presence at key industry events (film festivals, TV markets, tech conferences, creator summits, awards events)
  • Organize panels, speaking opportunities, and sponsorship activations
  • Coordinate talent, executives, and creators attending events
  • Oversee red-carpet, premiere, and launch events

Social Media & Digital Marketing Oversight

  • Own the company’s social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Oversee content calendars, campaign themes, and growth initiatives
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop promotional assets, trailers, clips, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Monitor analytics, engagement, and audience growth, adjusting strategy as needed
  • Manage or oversee social media managers, agencies, or freelancers

Brand & Messaging

  • Define and maintain consistent brand voice, positioning, and messaging
  • Work closely with content, production, and executive teams to align marketing with programming strategy
  • Support investor communications, announcements, and major company milestones
  • Ensure all external communications reflect the company’s vision and creative identity

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, publicity, or communications, preferably in entertainment, media, tech, or digital content
  • Proven track record of securing meaningful press coverage and managing brand launches
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills
  • Existing relationships with entertainment, tech, and business media a plus
  • Experience managing social media strategy and digital campaigns
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Passion for storytelling, content, pop culture, and emerging media formats

Preferred Background

  • Experience with streaming platforms, production studios, networks, or creator-driven brands
  • Familiarity with short-form, vertical, or mobile-first content ecosystems
  • Experience launching new brands, apps, or media ventures
