Wellness Equity Alliance (WEA) is a novel national public health organization comprised of a multidisciplinary team of population and public health experts with backgrounds in infectious disease, public health, emergency medicine, primary care, cardiology, pediatrics, psychiatry, community health work (CHW), nursing and advanced practice pharmacy. We work nearly exclusively with underrepresented communities, fundamentally addressing health-care disparities and the social determinants of health (SDoH) that have been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizing the following:
- People experiencing homelessness
- Indigenous communities
- Immigrant communities
- Rural communities
- BIPoC communities
- LGBTQIA+ communities
- Justice-impacted communities
The WEA team is diverse, inclusive, and nimble enough to assemble teams of healthcare professionals within days using our proven local staff recruitment models to address population health crises and communicable disease outbreaks. The WEA team’s partnership model is collaborative and allows hospitals, health jurisdictions, state/local government agencies to provide timely care using equity-based strategies for individuals and marginalized communities.
Some of our hallmark services at Wellness Equity Alliance include Integrated Behavioral Health and HIV Street Medicine, which provides comprehensive health support directly to those most in need on the streets. Our Enhanced Care Management program offers care management services and Community Supports for unhoused individuals, helping them access essential services and resources. We also operate Integrated Primary and Behavioral Healthcare Clinics in underserved communities, delivering critical healthcare services to populations that often face barriers to access. Additionally, our Mobile School-Based Health Care initiative extends healthcare services directly to schools, ensuring that children and adolescents receive timely care.
Purpose of the position
We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing & Communications manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing & communications strategies that will help us achieve our business goals of effective public health messaging and optimizing reputation and revenue streams in the field of public health and healthcare services. As a Marketing/Communications manager, you will be responsible for managing the marketing/comms team and ensuring that all marketing campaigns are executed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications Plans & Implementations
- Optimize Earned Media
- Guide Op-eds and Guest Essays
- Guide Press Releases - plans and distribution
- Optimize social media strategy and management - (namely LinkedIn)
- Run google analytics and manage SEO
- Manage conferences and speaking engagements
- Advise and help assist with podcast development
- Help facilitate paid media
- Lead internal communications development and support - e.g. newsletters
- Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and other collateral
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all marketing efforts are aligned with the company's overall strategy
Brand Management
- Monitoring and maintenance of brand assets and collateral
- Digital footprint (google analytics) maintenance and management
- Collateral inventory and allocation tracking
- Design and brand guide for brand protection and discipline
- Create an asset library
- Create a collateral and content library
- Website content development
- Social media account optimization
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, industry influencers, and clients
Development & RFP/Grant Partnership & Support
- Optimize market positioning with respect to marketing/comms
- Improve RFP/Grant outreach and patient education proposal components
- Conduct market research with respect to products and services
- Focus on product and service prioritization and roll-out plans
- Review and contribute to marketing and communication strategies for program proposals
- Develop and tailor marketing and communication strategies per individual program needs and scope
- Periodic review of communication strategies and outreach plans to ensure program marks are met and delivered
Planned & Ad hoc Content Development and/or Distribution
- Lead general copywriting and copyediting
- Assist with Proposals/Pitches
- Assist with presentations/decks
- Conduct quality assurance and improvement of marketing and communication strategies
- Remain at the forefront of communication and marketing trends to optimize organizational visibility and connectivity
Requirements: Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a management role
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies
- Experience managing a marketing budget
- Experience with social media management and digital marketing
- Proven self-management skills
