We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Marketing & Publicity Associate to provide support for the marketing and PR team across a wide sampling of marketing work and campaigns as we seek to bring life-changing messages to our readers. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is skilled at identifying trends, and has the creativity and expertise to promote books that will inspire readers. The ideal candidate will be an avid book reader, highly organized, detail oriented, tech savvy, an active member of the team, and possess a can-do attitude. This is a hybrid position based out of our Nashville, TN office. Responsibilities: Essential Responsibilities:* Execute support functions for the marketing and publicity team: process invoices, set up new vendors in system, monitor department email inboxes, shoot lifestyle photos of books, assist with sales conference videos.

  • Create and manage promotions on Goodreads, Net Galley and Edelweiss.
  • Assist marketers with the creation of marketing plans and execution of those plans.
  • Assist with digital marketing promotional efforts across Meta, Amazon, Google, TikTok, Spotify, and YouTube.
  • Assist PR team with media mailings, galleys, and other tasks to increase author awareness.
  • Manage devotionals and reading plan content creation for YouVersion and other media outlets.
  • Assist with coordinating virtual and in-person book launch and book signing events.
  • Manage author/agent requests for advanced reader copies (ARCs).
  • Organize and manage sample and influencer mailings and letters.
  • Submit our books for consideration for internal promotional recommendations.
  • Organize and package book assets (graphics, video, and content) to share with authors as well our online asset management platform (Cumulus).
  • Work with design teams to create promotional kits for books as well as marketing materials for promotions and book tours.
  • Under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing and in consultation with the title marketers develop and execute multi-title programmatic paid digital marketing campaigns for platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, Google, and YouTube. Identify online media outlets, execute media buy, setup target audiences, budgets, and bids. Provide input on digital marketing best practices to inform our marketing planning process and media selection.
  • Create digital marketing assets (online ads, emails, web pages, graphics, ad images, etc.) for internal and external email lists, blogs, affiliates, paid search, conferences, and organic and paid social media marketing. Create video assets, for example six-second YouTube bumper video ads, Instagram and TikTok video ads, and conference presentations that need videos included.
  • Daily performance monitoring of roughly 10-15 paid social media campaigns; monitor and track progress and make real-time adjustments. Measure success, trends, and ROI of our marketing initiatives. Create UTM and tracking links for all paid ad placements. Produce monthly reporting.
  • Works closely with Managing Editor to ensure proper organization and upkeep of office vault including newly published titles and replacing reprint editions as needed.

Qualifications: Knowledge/Work Experience: 0-2 years marketing experience required. At least one year of agency or in-house marketing experience preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, digital communications, or related discipline.Industry Knowledge: Experience and/or interest in publishing a plus. Skills:* Collaborative team player.

  • Strong organizational, time management skills with attention to detail, and ability to set priorities.
  • Proficiency with Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite applications (preferred).
  • Must be able to work independently based on the outlined processes and procedures of the department.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate needs, provide status updates, and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to help and solve problems.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues and vendors.
