We are seeking a senior, experienced communicator for one of the best communications jobs in America – overseeing strategic, consumer, PR, franchisee, restaurant, internal and crisis communications for our U.S.-based restaurant brands – Burger King, Popeyes and Firehouse Subs.

This role is first and foremost the senior communications advisor to our three U.S. brand Presidents and is an important member of all brand leadership teams.

The Vice President, Communications reports into the global Chief Corporate Officer for Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the parent company of our four restaurant brands (including Tim Hortons).

The role is based full time in Miami, Florida, where we have RBI's HQ and Burger King and Popeyes restaurant support centers (RSC). The role will also support Firehouse Subs, based out of Jacksonville, Florida and our 1,000+ company restaurants based out of Miami and Syracuse, New York.

There are six primary accountabilities for the Vice President of US Communications:

1. Strategic advisor to our U.S brand Presidents and member of each brands’ senior leadership teams

2. Franchisee communication – management of our franchisee advisory councils; strategy behind routine weekly and monthly communications to franchisees; annual, multi-city roadshows; and annual brand conventions for franchisees

3. Internal communication – building culture and connecting employees with company strategy and priorities

4. External earned communication – PR and earned influencer strategy to support brand marketing calendars and thought leadership narratives

5. Crisis communication – lead issues and crisis management across the U.S. brands

6. Team building – a passion for team building and collaboration. You will be joining a high-performing group of communicators and will play a key role in supporting their continued growth and impact.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in franchisee or retail communications, corporate and crisis communications, and PR/earned influencer relations. They are an agile, strategic storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to communicate with influence at every level.

Critically, the successful candidate is a hands-on, hard worker who is capable of managing a large volume of work and quickly pivoting between brands and issues.

Key Responsibilities

Franchisee Communications

  • Lead the development of RBI’s global franchise communications strategy, ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment across all brands and markets.

  • Build trusted relationships with franchisees and field leadership to foster engagement, collaboration, and understanding of company initiatives.

  • Partner with operations, marketing, and brand teams to deliver impactful communications that drive performance and brand growth.

  • Create and oversee communications channels — including newsletters, intranet, and in-person events — that deliver two-way communication and feedback with franchisees. Corporate & Executive Communications

  • Serve as a communications advisor to senior leadership, supporting executive visibility and effective communication across internal and external audiences.

  • Draft speeches, messages, and strategic talking points for brand presidents and senior executives.

  • Ensure all corporate and franchisee communications align with RBI’s purpose, values, and brand voice. Crisis & Issues Management

  • Lead communications strategy for sensitive issues affecting the business, franchisees, or brand reputation.

  • Develop and maintain RBI’s crisis communications framework and protocols in coordination with legal, public affairs, and brand teams.

  • Act as a trusted voice in moments of challenge — balancing transparency, empathy, and brand protection. Public Relations & Brand Reputation

  • Drive proactive storytelling that highlights franchise success, innovation, and community impact across RBI’s brands.

  • Oversee media relations and manage agency partnerships to amplify brand narratives and executive thought leadership.

  • Monitor and assess media and stakeholder sentiment to inform communications strategy. Qualifications

  • 20+ years of extensive communications experience, including franchise, retail, or QSR industry experience.

  • Strong background in corporate and crisis communications, with proven ability to lead through complex issues.

  • Demonstrated success building communication strategies for large, distributed organizations.

  • Expertise in public relations and earned influencer relations to help drive and shift consumer narratives

  • Experience partnering with senior executives and influencing across multiple business units or brands.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and inspire action.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Leadership Competencies
