Job Overview

BOCO Gear, a leader in performance headwear and accessories for endurance athletes, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to support brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth. This role is ideal for someone early in their marketing career who loves the endurance/outdoor space, is excited to learn, and can manage day-to-day marketing execution with creativity and strong follow-through.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, curious, and comfortable juggling multiple projects across digital, social, events, and partnerships.

Salary range: $50-65K

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Support & Execution

  • Creating and owning the annual marketing calendar across all our channels and initiatives
  • Assist in executing BOCO Gear’s marketing plans and campaigns across digital, social, email, and retail channels.
  • Collaborate with sales, product development, and operations teams to ensure consistent brand messaging.
  • Stay aware of industry trends and competitor activity; bring forward ideas for content, campaigns, and community engagement.

Brand & Content Coordination

  • Support the creation, scheduling, and publishing of content across social media, email newsletters, and the website.
  • Manage social media posting calendar and coordinate with freelance creatives (designers, photographers, videographers).
  • Help develop brand storytelling that highlights BOCO innovation, ambassadors, athlete partnerships, and the outdoor lifestyle.
  • Facilitate the creation of sales and merchandising tools such as sell sheets, flyers, infographics, postcards, hangtags, product display and tradeshow booths

Digital Marketing & E-Commerce

  • Assist in managing BOCO Gear’s website updates, product launches, and merchandising needs.
  • Support basic SEO, email marketing, and social ad execution, working alongside outside agencies.
  • Track performance metrics (email opens, social engagement, website activity) and compile regular reports.

Event & Athlete/Influencer/Ambassador Program Support

  • Representing BOCO Gear at endurance events, expos, conferences as needed.
  • Building relationships with race directors, athletes, partners, and brands to expand visibility and marketing opportunities
  • Coordinate logistics for endurance events, expos, and race activations (shipping product, prepping materials, supporting social coverage).
  • Assist with communication and admin support for athletes, ambassadors, and influencers (contract tracking, product sends, content requests).
  • Help organize co-branded partner campaigns and track deliverables.
  • Travelling to endurance events, expos and conferences – travel 5-10%

Community Engagement & PR Support

  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and support community building.
  • Assist with PR outreach lists, media monitoring, and content coordination for stories or product features.
  • Support charitable giving initiatives and community partnerships.

Reporting, Organization & Workflow

  • Help track KPIs and performance dashboards across campaigns and channels.
  • Assist in managing the marketing budget by keeping logs of expenses, invoices, and vendor projects.
  • Provide administrative support to the marketing function, keeping projects and calendars on track.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Sports Management, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.

Experience

1–3 years of marketing experience preferred (internships or agency/client-side roles welcome). Experience in endurance sports, outdoor brands, or athletic events is a strong plus.

Skills

  • Strong understanding or passion for endurance sports, outdoor recreation, or active lifestyle culture.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, basic email marketing tools, and CMS/e-commerce systems.
  • Strong writing, organization, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects with tight timelines.
  • Data-driven mindset with willingness to learn analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Klaviyo, etc.).

Preferred

  • Experience working with athletes, ambassadors, or influencer programs.
  • Experience attending or supporting athletic events (running, cycling, triathlon, trail).
  • Graphic design or content creation interest/skills are a bonus.
