Position Summary:

Administer and facilitate all digital marketing efforts by developing and executing digital communication campaigns, and managing web updates as needed on the Port Houston website(s) to increase awareness, deepen stakeholder engagement and promote the Port Houston brand.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Analyze digital data to draw key recommendations around website, email marketing, and social media optimization
  • Serve as project lead for website redesign, website updates, plugins monitoring
  • Establish effective brand presence across variety of social media channels
  • Use video to help tell our story online
  • Conduct digital audits of the Port Houston brand online
  • Maintain digital dashboard of several different accounts
  • Coordinate with internal teams to identify priorities and create digital and social campaigns for a variety of Port initiatives
  • Write and send emails to stakeholders
  • Monitor key online marketing metrics to track success
  • Create and maintain online listings across e-commerce platforms
  • Ensure that the brand message and tone is consistent
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for website updates and revisions
  • Perform website analytics on a regular basis or as needed • Assist research, writing, and editing of printed and digital collateral
  • Maintain and help to evolve the voice of web communications by researching and writing for the Port Houston website, e-mails and social media
  • Conduct research on new content areas and maintain editorial calendar
  • Identify and assess new, under-leveraged or emerging digital channels of communication (e.g. apps, social media, mobile technologies, blogs, user-generated content, video) to determine the value in driving marketing objectives
  • Develop and execute paid social campaigns that integrate seamlessly with broader marketing strategies
  • Manage user experience on website
  • Stay abreast of social trends and best practices
  • Manage digital media budget
  • Act in accordance with Port Houston core values (respect, excellence, accountability, diligence, and you)
  • Perform other duties as needed

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related major in a public or accredited private academic institution preferred
  • 3+ years of related digital marketing experience required
  • Experience executing paid social media campaigns
  • Previous SEO experience
  • Proficiency in corporate social media and trends

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:

  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing
  • Knowledge of video and photo editing software such as Adobe
  • Knowledge of WordPress, and Hubspot or CRM platforms
  • Knowledge of digital publishing • Knowledge of blogging and email campaign development
  • Knowledge of social media marketing
  • Knowledge of social media technologies, platforms, and measurement techniques specifically Facebook, X, and LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing platforms, Google products, and CRM
  • Knowledge of creating/editing HTML for email and web
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Creativity and organizational skills
  • Ability to engage management decision makers and influencers
  • Ability to take a proactive approach to improve our communications and brand across all online channels
