Job Title: PT Director of Public Relations (Health & Wellness)

Position Summary:

The part-time

Director of Public Relations (PR) for Health & Wellness (Maternity Cover)

is a temporary senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations initiatives to enhance the reputation, visibility, and brand image of the company's health, wellness, and beauty divisions. This role will provide high-level PR leadership during a maternity leave

, overseeing PR campaigns, managing media relations, guiding social media strategy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive,

consistent messaging across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies to promote the company's health, wellness, and beauty products and services.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of PR campaigns, ensuring alignment with business goals and brand values.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and potential challenges.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers in the health, wellness, and beauty sectors.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company in media interactions, ensuring accurate and positive representation.
  • Prepare press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to effectively convey key messages.
  • Ensure all content is consistent with the brand's voice, tone, and messaging guidelines
  • Brand development and telling the brand stories through the media lens

Crisis Management:

  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate potential PR issues.
  • Act quickly and decisively in response to PR crises, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage the current PR team
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of PR professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Work closely with social, partnerships and influencer internal teams to ensure cohesive and integrated PR efforts.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external agencies, influencers, and industry organizations to enhance PR initiatives.

Measurement and Reporting:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for PR activities and regularly measure and report on the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve future PR efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on health, wellness, and beauty sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing PR strategies and campaigns.
  • National agency experience required with strong media and influencer relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in crisis communication and issue management.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Location:  This role is in person in Miami or remote, however a New York or Los Angeles background is preferred.
  • Proficiency in digital PR tools as well as office management tools like MuckRack, Canva, MS Office, Google Business Suite, etc.
