The Social Media Specialist is a marketing position that ensures all social media communication and content is high-quality, high-value, consistent, and meets specific objectives, such as engaging audiences, driving traffic, and promoting brand awareness.

As a Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing content for various digital platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Tiktok, ads, and emails. Your primary goal will be to produce high-quality, engaging content that aligns with the organization's objectives and resonates with our target audience.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Content Development: Generate ideas for compelling content, collaborate with CEO, and write/revise copy that resonates with our community for a variety our social media accounts.
  • Content Strategy: Work with the CEO to contribute to the development of content strategies aligned with organizational goals and audience preferences. Identify content opportunities based on audience insights, keyword research, and industry trends. Plan and schedule content calendars to ensure a consistent publishing cadence across platforms. Monitor and analyze content performance metrics, such as website traffic, engagement rates, and social media metrics, to optimize content strategies and tactics.
  • Content Distribution and Promotion: Develop strategies to maximize the reach and impact of content through organic and paid distribution channels. Share content on social media platforms, forums, and online communities to increase visibility and engagement. Collaborate with CEO to leverage partnerships, influencer collaborations, and guest posting opportunities for content promotion.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and content creation tools, including AI developments. Experiment with new forms of content and technology to enhance the impact of our messaging.

Proficiencies and qualifications required:

  • Proven experience as a content creator, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong writing, photography, video and multimedia content production skills. Strong ability to produce original ideas. Excellent writing, editing, proof reading and photography/videography skills with an unwavering attention to detail.
  • Photography/Videography styling
  • Social Media Content Creation: copy + photo/short form video
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • SEO: Demonstrated knowledge of SEO best practices that elevate content visibility and audience engagement across all digital platforms.
  • Proficiency in content management and video editing.
  • Self-managing: Ability to work independently with a high level of production and quality. Able to work on multiple projects in different stages of development simultaneously. Takes initiative, anticipates needs, seeks feedback, consistently meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with editing software & social media platforms
  • Understanding of copyright laws, content licensing and intellectual property rights.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
