The Role

We’re looking for a Chief Marketing Officer to define and lead Passive’s entire growth and brand engine. This is a foundational executive role responsible for building awareness, demand, and trust at scale — across consumer and enterprise audiences.

You’ll own the narrative, the channels, and the systems that turn Passive into the default career platform for high-performing professionals. You’ll work directly with the CEO and CTO to translate product value into market pull and to build a brand that people recognize, trust, and talk about.

This is not a “run campaigns” role. This is a category-defining leadership role for someone who knows how to turn product truth into market gravity.

What You’ll Own

Brand & Positioning

  • Define Passive’s brand strategy, voice, and narrative across all channels.
  • Establish Passive as the trusted career platform for passive, high-performing professionals.
  • Build long-term brand equity while driving near-term growth.

Growth & Acquisition

  • Own B2C growth strategy across organic, paid, influencer, and content channels.
  • Design and optimize lifecycle marketing, referrals, and premium conversion.
  • Partner closely with Product to drive activation, engagement, and retention loops.

Go-to-Market Leadership

  • Lead consumer GTM strategy for launch and scale.
  • Support B2B GTM messaging for employer and ATS-partner distribution.
  • Align marketing strategy with product launches, partnerships, and revenue goals.

Team & Systems

  • Build and lead a world-class growth and marketing organization.
  • Establish scalable systems for experimentation, attribution, and performance measurement.
  • Set KPIs across CAC, LTV, conversion, retention, and brand lift.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of senior marketing leadership experience (CMO, VP Marketing, or equivalent).
  • Proven success scaling consumer or marketplace products — ideally with subscriptions or PLG motion.
  • Deep understanding of brand, growth, and performance marketing — you know when to invest in each.
  • Strong product intuition and ability to translate complex value into simple, compelling messaging.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building from zero.
  • Belief that the hiring and career ecosystem is broken — and ambition to fix it.
