A social media coordinator is responsible for managing and executing a brand's social media presence across various platforms. The role is typically involves creating content, engaging with online communities, and tracking performance to build brand awareness and drive engagement.
Duties and responsibilities
- Content creation and curation: Develop and produce engaging content, including text, images, and video, for social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Social media management: Maintain a video content calendar, scheduling posts to ensure regular and consistent communication with the audience. Monitor social media channels for industry trends and competitor activity.
- Working collaboratively with our Visual Assistants to create professional content.
- Community engagement: Outreach for possible content and event collaborations. This includes interacting with followers to build a strong online community and managing customer service inquiries.
- Analytics and reporting: Track and analyze well receptive content such and to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns. Auto- generate reports on social media performance.
- Campaign support: Assist in the planning and execution of social media marketing campaigns with on the ground creation, including any paid advertising efforts and influencer collaborations. They help align social media initiatives with broader marketing goals.
- Trend research: Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, tools, and best practices to keep content relevant and engaging.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating compelling captions and engaging with online audiences effectively.
- Creative and technical aptitude: Proficiency with content creation and editing tools, such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro), or other video/photo editing software.
- Knowledge of social media: Familiarity and passion for major social media platforms and an understanding of their unique features and best practices.
- Analytical skills: The ability to understand social media metrics, interpret data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize content and strategy.
- Organizational and time management skills: Strong multitasking and project management abilities to manage multiple social media accounts and meet deadlines.
- Relevant experience: 1–3 years of experience managing social media for a brand or agency is often required. A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is also preferred.
