Water for Good transforms lives through sustainable access to safe water and improved sanitation and hygiene in the places that need it most. Water for Good currently serves in Cambodia, the Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Position Summary: The Community Outreach Coordinator will use their proactive interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels of engagement and support. This energetic and motivated team player will contribute to the operational and financial success of the organization by providing world-class customer service, supporting donor relation efforts, executing events, and by representing Water for Good in the community.

This is a high visibility position inside and outside of the organization. At all times, the Community Outreach Coordinator must represent Water for Good well to various stakeholders in diverse settings.

Responsibilities & Duties Overview:

  • Support the Development team by implementing and executing fundraising events for Water for Good, both in the NWA region and nationally.
  • Organize the administration and logistics of events, including the décor, design, promotion, production, and any day-of-event needs.
  • Collaborate with local communities (businesses, churches, schools, retirement homes, etc.) to identify meaningful engagement opportunities (volunteering, matching gifts, employee engagement, peer to peer fundraising, events, etc.).
  • Represent Water for Good professionally with various audiences, and regularly attend and make group presentations throughout the community to engage the audience with Water for Good’s mission.
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets and key influencers to increase awareness and coverage of Water for Good.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with community and corporate representatives for the purpose of increasing Water for Good’s mission and influence in the community.
  • Create a positive, missional experience for new and prospective donors.
  • Recruit, train, organize, and support Water for Good volunteers to meaningfully give their time and talent to serve others.
  • Support the donor relations team with any administrative duties related to donor care, including Salesforce administration, emails, phone calls, thank you notes, etc.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for Water for Good’s mission of transforming lives through sustainable access to safe water, as well as improved sanitation and hygiene, in places that need it most.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, public relations, marketing, or other applicable degree path.
  • 2+ years of experience in a fundraising or development role.
  • Experience in the coordination, logistics, and administration of event planning.
  • Able to communicate both professionally and relationally in a manner which reflects Water for Good’s values.
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to multi-task to solve issues.
  • Available to work occasional nights and weekends, depending on event dates and times.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience using Project Management software, such as Asana, is a plus.
  • Previous experience using a CRM, such as Salesforce, is a plus.

Physical Qualifications:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Travel Required: must be able to travel to local events around NWA.
