To support the launch of a new venture by an established Beauty brand, we are looking for a passionate, skilled and entrepreneurial person to help support our public relations and social efforts.

We have demonstrated success in media, influencer, and celebrity relations under the established brand, and are looking to leverage those learnings with this new venture. You’ll work as part of the new brand team, but will also coordinate with the established brand's PR team and benefit from their learnings, relationships and experience.

Our ideal candidate has proven experience in both public relations and social media, and comes with a passionate, entrepreneurial attitude. Launching a new brand is a unique experience, and you will have the ability to play a key role in its success.

We’re looking for someone looking to make a difference, stretch their skills to the next level and approach the challenges with a solution-oriented, proactive attitude. Clear communication skills, the ability to independently manage work while also working well as part of a collaborative team, and the ability to meet deadlines with great attention to detail are all “musts.” A passion for the beauty industry is important, as is experience working with a beauty brand; or, at a minimum, luxury CPGs.

This role will have responsibility across the full PR mix, including media relations, paid and organic influencer, our make-up artist program, and organic social. You’ll be the intersection between the brand team and our media agency, and you’ll also work closely with the digital commerce team on identifying valuable influencer affiliates. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing PR campaigns to promote new product launches, events, and initiatives.
  • Support the PR team in media relations by drafting press releases, pitching stories, and building relationships with key industry contacts.
  • Monitor and track media coverage and create reports to analyze the effectiveness of PR strategies.
  • Assist in organizing and executing press events, product launches, and media interviews.
  • Oversee the brand's organic social media presence to ensure alignment with PR and brand messaging strategies.
  • Monitor online conversations to manage reputation, enhance engagement, and address any potential crises or opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to amplify key brand narratives.
  • Collaborate with marketing and DTC teams to ensure consistent messaging across all communications channels.
  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, press kits, and presentations.
  • Conduct research on market trends, competitors, and consumer preferences to inform PR strategies.
  • Oversee agency coordination with the internal team to ensure cross-functional coordination and that we’re maximizing our efforts.
  • Drive awareness of future programs with compelling, emotionally-relevant content across all channels to foster brand connection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and persuasive content.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media/social listening platforms, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles and practices, with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to gather and analyze information to inform PR strategies.
  • Understanding of the beauty industry, trends, and consumer preferences.

Education and Experience:

  • Proven record of experience in public relations and social media, ideally working with a startup brand for some of that time; as well as with brands in the beauty and/or luxury CPG spaces.
  • Demonstrated skills in creating successful brand communities, engaging content and skillful community management.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Adhering to the requirements of California's law on salary transparency, the salary bracket for this role is set between $90,000.00 and $110,000.00 annually. The offered salary may be adjusted based on various factors such as the applicant's qualifications, skills, and professional experience.
